Tai Chi with Julie - Hayling Island Gentle Tai Chi/Qigong sessions on Hayling Island including some of Dr Paul Lam's Tai Chi for Health

Here are the promised reminder videos of the Jiaqiang Qigong which include some of the upgrade options we talk about in class. NB, I have not used weights during the video which could be another upgrade option when you feel safe and comfortable with all the basic moves and can do them all smoothly and comfortably in a continuous flowing sequence. As usual I have left the music off so you can choose what you would like to listen to and I have gone straight into the Jiaqiang Qigong form, so please remember to do your own warm up routine before you start and your own cool down routine when you finish (there are various reminders of these in earlier videos).
These videos are intended for people who come to the classes, however all are welcome to use them if you would like to, on the understanding that you look after your own unique health needs during, and as a consequence, of following these videos.
Precaution! The move inside outside leg kicks is not suitable for people who have had hip surgery within the last year!
Thank you.

Today I got my Strong Woman Challenge thank you pack from the BHF, if you raise more than £300 you get a T-Shirt, Tote bag and a wrist sweatband as a promotional thank you…Well your help, support and kind generosity has raised over four times that amount, with the current total at an incredible £1,250 absolutely amazing! Thank you all so very much, (if you have not donated, and would like to, the JustGiving page is still open): https://www.justgiving.com/page/juliegettingstrong...

Today is the last day of my October Strong Woman Challenge and I am absolutely astounded by your kindness and generosity, thank you all so much. I set my target for £400 and have actually raised an incredible total of £865.
As I said in my previous post, I am really glad I have taken up this challenge because it has done me a lot of good in a lot of different ways and has allowed me to honour the memory of precious loved ones; and I know that this incredible total will add to the great work of the BHF, so thank you all so very much!
I believe the JustGiving page stays open for a few days for any late donations so I will include the link here, just in case anyone else might like to donate: https://www.justgiving.com/page/juliegettingstrong?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=CL

As I enter the last few days of my October Strong Woman Challenge, I want to say thank you so much to all those who have sponsored me. I'm really grateful for all the donations and I’m really glad I have taken up this challenge because it has done me a lot of good in a lot of different ways: physically I’m sure you won’t be able to see that my muscles are stronger, (but they feel stronger); it has done me a lot of good mentally as I feel I have channelled sadness into positive action, and it’s done me a lot of good mindfully as I have felt close to my precious lost loved ones as I grit my teeth and do some more reps or lift another weight, so thank you all so very much!
There is still time to donate if you haven’t and would like to, here is the Just Giving page link again there is no obligation but some people have asked me to share the link more clearly, so here it is:

September has a lot of family birthdays for us including my own on the 22nd. Then exactly a week later on the 29th would have been my brother’s, who we so sadly lost last November, and I wanted to do something to honour him. I heard about the British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) October Strong Woman Challenge on my birthday whilst thinking of him, so naturally this challenge feels like the right thing to do to honour both brothers lost in recent years and previously both parents, all to heart conditions.
The BHF challenge means I have to do various strength exercises throughout October and seek sponsorship. In the past, we as a group have raised quite a bit of money through our donation sessions down the beach and ‘under the tree’. However, times have changed and we are currently not holding these sessions, so if you feel able to sponsor me for this challenge, all donations will be most gratefully received.
I have a Just Giving page: https://www.justgiving.com/page/juliegettingstrong?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=CL
There is no obligation of course, but thank you in anticipation for any donations you feel comfortable to make.

I’ve been sorting out videos and here are some of the older ones we used to use for anyone who might like to give them a try…remember always work to your own level, whatever that level is today, start gently, build up gradually and listen to how your unique body feels before you upgrade any of the moves.
