We played a price comparison game this morning at Oakwood Court 💷💷
We went to 1955, 1975 and 2025 seeing who could guess the prices of everyday items from each of the years.
There were some great guesses and shock at the prices of things now!
This activity promoted a lot of conversation about shopping, what residents used to buy, where they used to shop and Green Shield stamps 🥰

Today we had a friendly game of darts 🎯 which usually gets competitive 😃. We had such a great turn out today and with some fantastic scores being had. Alot of fun was had.

In the afternoon we teased our brains with a game of hangman and some wordsearches. You could see that residents tried so hard to guess the words.

It was tine for the measuring and weighing game today at Oakwood Court. The aim of the game was to cut in half as acvurately as possible food items including vegetables fruit and bread rolls and then to weigh each half. The one with the smallest margin was the winner. It was a surprisingly hard feat to acheive but participants did very well. Janice came up trumps and won a lovely chocolatey prize. Well done all.

Sheila, Myra, Margarite and Majorie had fun exploring different ways of moving and dancing with scarves today in our music and movement session.

We tried exercises to varying genres of music from "What a wonderful world" and "jailhouse rock" to music by the supremes and the carpenters. 🎶🎸🎼

It was like being on holiday in Spain at a latin inspired fiesta this afternoon at Oakwood Court. Josefa and her friends brought fun and laughter to the lounge and there were smiles all around.

Cold driinks were never far away today, and Ted, Rosalind's friend sported his wonderful 'summer cool' hair cut on his visit this morning.

Its Friday already 😐 the weeks are going so quickly.

Today we played a game of musical bingo which is always so much fun. It brings back memories for our residents 🥰.

David said that his mother used to sing Danny Boy to him when he was a boy 💙

We had 4 winners overall Roger, Claire, Sheila and Janice.

In the afternoon we welcomed Jon Mcdevitt to play his guitar and sing for us.
