Andy, Tom and David had the privilege of providing first aid cover at the annual Mercian Regiment Pilgrimage at Crich Stand today.

The event is a special time for soldiers, veterans, and local families to gather and lay wreaths in memory of the more than 12,000 comrades who died in conflicts spanning from World War One to modern day operations

The first pilgrimage happened in 1924, and the tradition continues today with parades, a religious service, and the laying of wreaths.

Last night, our volunteers were proud to provide first aid cover at Ashgate Hospice’s incredible Sparkle Night Walk in Chesterfield. ✨💚

It was fantastic to see so many people coming together to support such an important local charity, creating a wonderful atmosphere throughout the evening.

A huge thank you to the organisers, participants and our team members for making it such a memorable night. Thankfully, our volunteers were on hand to provide assistance whenever it was needed, helping to ensure everyone could enjoy the event safely.

Well done to everyone who took part and raised vital funds for Ashgate Hospice – your support makes a real difference. 💚

A busy day for our volunteers from Derbyshire Central today! 🚑💚

With fantastic support from County, our teams have been out providing first aid cover at three great community events:

🎉 Kilburn Community Day
🧸 Open Day at Kids Planet Nursery, Kilburn

This Volunteers’ Week, we want to say a massive THANK YOU to all our incredible St John Ambulance volunteers. 💚

You are the people who somehow manage to stay calm while the rest of us are Googling “how many plasters is too many plasters?” 😅

Whether you’re supporting at events, responding in emergencies, teaching lifesaving skills, or simply being a reassuring face when someone’s having their worst day — you make an extraordinary difference every single day.

You give up evenings, weekends, family time, and probably the occasional hot cup of tea, all to help complete strangers. That kind of dedication cannot be measured.

Behind every treated injury, every comforted patient, every safe event, and every life saved, there’s a volunteer who stepped forward and said: “I’ll help.”

You are the calm in the chaos, the heroes with first aid kits, and proof that kindness is one of the most powerful medicines there is.

From all of us: thank you for every hour, every smile, every blister patched up, every nervous patient reassured, and every life touched.
Happy Volunteers’ Week — we simply couldn’t do it without you. 🚑💚

Congratulations to Ashgate Hospice for the incredible £124,913 they raised from the High Peak Trail Walk.
