Breastfeeding can be a challenge for some. These 3 myths can make it even more challenging

🤱 Breastfeeding is easy...great if it came naturally to you but it didn't for me. It took time, perseverance and having great support around me to master it

🤱You need to eat plain foods while breastfeeding...a balanced diet and things in variation is absolutely fine

🤱 You won't be able to breastfeed if you don't do it as soon as baby is born...there are ways to keep your milk supply and feed your baby until they can go on the breast or until they learn. Knowledge and support is key

If you're struggling to breastfeed, let me help you! DM me the word FEED to find out more about the 1:1 support I offer 🤍

How to feed your baby is your choice. It depends on what you ultimately want to achieve with infant feeding.

There may be many reasons you choose formula milk for your baby. It can be confusing what to choose, with so many platforms for advice and support.

I fed both my children differently, one formula milk and one breast milk. I am very lucky they are both healthy.

If you're a new parent and want support to make the right decision for you and your family, DM me the word FEED.

Things I would do differently if I was breastfeeding for the first time...

✨ Have good support, your husband, partner, mum, or best friend, someone to be your cheerleader and spur you on. Also, if they can help with other things, this frees you to 100% focus on feeding until you feel more established

✨Go to support groups, offload, ask questions, and meet people in the same situation as you

✨Reach out to someone with experience and knowledge, or even just some reassurance on how you're doing

🤍 My client came to me asking for help and support with breastfeeding position and attachment

🤍 I remember all too well, the feeling of being a first time mum, receiving conflicting advice, and feeling overwhelmed

🤍 I listened to everything they and their partner had to say and their questions, then I provided my advice, guidance, and suggestions

🌟 If you would like to feel more confident and knowledgeable breastfeeding, DM me the word SUPPORT and I'll be glad to help you 🌟

C Section recovery tips

✨take it easy, you've had major abdominal surgery, so for weeks, even months you should let your body heal, take it slow, ask and let people help you

✨take painkillers if you need them, ease the discomfort

✨eat and drink well to aid your recovery

✨ don't lift anything heavy, nothing heavier than your baby

✨ take care of your wound and be aware of signs of infection, go to your midwife or GP if you believe your wound could be infected

Ever wanted to know the difference between Braxton hicks and real labour??

Braxton hicks are your body's way of preparing for labour, like practice contractions. They are spontaneous and irregular and do not start labour. They can feel similar to menstrual cramps.

Real labour, you will experience real contractions/tightenings. These will dilate your cervix, feel much stronger but each one brings you closer to meeting your baby. You are in established labour when you are having 3 regular, strong contractions within a 10 minute period and when you reach 4cm dilated.

Your breastfeeding journey isn't about placing big goals on yourself; it's about taking one day at a time and easing the pressure of reaching certain milestones.

Whether you breastfeed for days, weeks, a year, or more, take pride in your journey. Everyone's experience is unique 🤍

Nurturing and nourishing your little one is definitely worth celebrating! ✨
