We had such a lovely dementia friendly session here at Queensway House, joined by the Hertfordshire Alzheimer’s Society, along with our residents, relatives and team 💜

It was a really special time to sit together, listen and share stories. There were some thoughtful conversations around kindness, patience and seeing the person behind the dementia, with lots of nods of understanding around the room.

Moments like this mean a lot to our home, bringing everyone closer and helping us all learn from one another in such a gentle, supportive way 🌷

Recently at Queensway House Care Home , we enjoyed a lovely morning of colouring, creativity and good company 💜🎨

Our wonderful residents spent time relaxing with colouring pages, pencils and a cuppa, sharing conversations and enjoying the simple pleasure of creating something together. It was a lovely way to unwind, spark memories and spend quality time with friends 😊

We also took the opportunity to celebrate our wonderful admin, Rosie, on her birthday. Everyone enjoyed joining together to wish her a very happy birthday and show appreciation for all the positivity and support she brings to our home 🎂💜

July saw us celebrating a few of our favourite dates in the calendar, alongside all the everyday moments that make each month special 💜

We marked World Chocolate Day with a few well deserved treats, celebrated National Ice Cream Day with everyone's favourite flavours, and during , we took the opportunity to recognise our wonderful teams who make such a difference every day 🍦🍫

Alongside the celebrations, there were all the little moments that make each month what it is, catching up with friends, enjoying favourite activities and making the most of the summer days.

🍰 Baking moments at Queensway House Care Home ! 💜

Our wonderful residents enjoyed a lovely baking session with our talented chef, getting involved with mixing, decorating and sharing their favourite baking memories along the way.

There was plenty of chatting, laughter and the delicious smell of freshly baked treats filling the home. Everyone proudly admired their creations before sitting down together to enjoy them with a well deserved cup of tea ☕✨

💃 Dancing fun at Queensway House Care Home ! 🎶

Louise, our wonderful dance teacher, has been bringing lots of energy and creativity to our dance sessions by introducing different music styles and fun props. One of the favourite moments was wearing the gold sparkly hats, which added a little extra sparkle and brought plenty of smiles ✨

Our lovely residents have loved getting involved, trying new moves and enjoying the confidence that comes from dancing together. It has been a lovely way to keep active, have fun and share special moments 💜

A lovely afternoon of tea, treats and togetherness at Queensway House ☕💜

Our wonderful residents enjoyed a delightful afternoon tea with beautifully prepared tables, delicious cakes, freshly brewed tea, coffee and a special treat of chilled prosecco. There were plenty of smiles, laughter and wonderful conversations shared throughout the afternoon.

It was lovely to see everyone reminiscing, raising a glass to friendship and enjoying time together over some favourite treats. Sometimes the simplest gatherings create the sweetest memories 😊

Looks like Jackie and Nancy were on a mission here at Queensway… and nothing was getting in their way 🧹

With plenty of teamwork (and a few laughs along the way), they got stuck in and had everything looking fresh and sparkling in no time. There was a real sense of pride in the room once they’d finished, and rightly so ✨

Safe to say the dust didn’t stand a chance this time. Just another lovely moment of our residents getting involved and enjoying it together 💜

Ice cream, sunshine and happy memories at Queensway House Care Home 🍦💜

Our wonderful residents enjoyed celebrating National Ice Cream Day by choosing their favourite flavours and enjoying a lovely treat together.

The afternoon brought back lots of memories too, with stories shared about seaside trips, childhood summers and enjoying ice creams over the years. A simple treat that created a very special moment for everyone 😊

We had a very special reason to celebrate at Queensway House Care Home this week as our lovely Sue marked an incredible 20 years with us 💜

There were plenty of smiles as our residents and team came together to surprise her, with a visit from the Mayor of Dacorum, Councillor Garrick Stevens, making the day even more memorable.

Sue was treated to a gorgeous presentation of flowers, courtesy of Amanda Jane Florist, a cake with an illustration depicting her with a resident, and some well deserved gifts. But for Sue, it was the kind words and appreciation in the room that meant the most.

Sue has been such a constant, caring presence in our home over two decades, and so many of our residents have been lucky enough to feel her kindness. It was a joy to celebrate everything she brings to our home 💜
