Did you spot us at the Small Dole Village Fayre on Saturday? ☀️🍦

We had a fantastic day in the sunshine, chatting with patients, meeting local families, and being part of our wonderful community. 😎

As well as answering your questions, we took blood pressure readings, tested your reflexes, and challenged you to identify some of the bones in the body (Bone Jovi was exhausted after a busy afternoon!😅)

Thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hello – we loved seeing you! 🥰

🚫 Please help us reduce missed appointments 🚫

Our number of Did Not Attend (DNA) appointments is continuing to increase. Unfortunately, every missed appointment is time that could have been offered to another patient who needs to be seen.

If you are unable to attend your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible by either:
✅ Cancelling via the link in your appointment reminder message, or
📞 Calling the surgery, selecting appointments then option 1 to leave a voicemail to cancel.

Missing appointments without telling us is not acceptable. By cancelling in advance you help us offer that appointment to another patient and reduce waiting times for everyone.

Even if it's only a few hours before your appointment, please cancel if you can no longer attend.

Thank you for helping us make the best use of NHS appointments and ensuring more patients can access the care they need.

Many women continue Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) beyond the age of 60 and for more than 10 years. There is no age at which HRT must automatically stop, but it is important to review your treatment every year.

Please remember to:
💗 Check your breasts regularly and attend breast screening when invited.
💗 Report any unexpected vaginal bleeding to your GP promptly.
💗 Attend your annual HRT review.

Every woman's situation is different, and we will support you to make the decision that is right for you.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss your HRT before your next review, please submit an Admin Rapid Health request via our website https://www.henfieldmedicalcentre.co.uk/rapid-health--appointments

Don't drink caffeine before your blood test or blood pressure readings as it'll affect the results! Try to avoid caffeine for 8–12 hours before your test.

Just because the drink has water in, doesn't mean it's ok to have before your test.

🚩The NHS Reasonable Adjustment Digital Flag:
• Removes barriers for patients with disabilities
• It is immediately visible to staff when the patient's record is opened.
• Ensures that details of impairments and other key information are shared consistently across the NHS services
• It can help to reduce stress for the patient, those treating them and for carers, knowing that we already know the adjustments required

🦻🧑‍🦽‍⚠Examples of Reasonable Adjustments:
• Providing BSL interpreters, hearing loops, or information in Easy Read or large print formats.
• Guaranteeing wheelchair access, providing low-light or low-noise spaces, and enabling home visits when necessary.
• Severe needle or blood phobia or anxiety in clinical settings
