You have survived 100% of your difficult days so far.

The days you thought would break you.

The conversations you didn't want to have.

The losses you never expected.

The setbacks.
The disappointments.
The moments you questioned yourself.

Yet here you are.

Maybe not unchanged.
Maybe not unscarred.

But still here.

Sometimes we focus so much on what isn't going well that we forget to acknowledge the resilience it took to get this far.

Growth doesn't always look like confidence.

Sometimes growth looks like:
🌿 trying again
🌿 setting a boundary
🌿 asking for help
🌿 resting without guilt
🌿 letting go of what you can't control
🌿 choosing yourself for once

Whatever you're carrying today, don't underestimate your ability to keep moving forward.

You have overcome difficult things before.

And you may be stronger than you give yourself credit for.

"I don't feel like myself anymore"

Have you ever looked at your life and wondered:

"When did I stop feeling like me?"

Sometimes it happens so gradually that we barely notice.

We become busy meeting expectations.
Looking after others.
Working.
Coping.
Getting through each day.

And somewhere along the way, parts of ourselves can get left behind.

The things we once enjoyed.
The confidence we once had.
The sense of who we are beneath the responsibilities, pressures, and demands of life.

Many people describe feeling:
β€’ disconnected from themselves
β€’ emotionally numb
β€’ lost or directionless
β€’ stuck in survival mode
β€’ unsure what they need anymore

It can feel as though you've lost yourself.

But often, that person isn't gone.

They've just been buried beneath everything you've been carrying.

Counselling can provide a space to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and explore who you are beyond the roles you fulfil for everyone else.

Not to become somebody new.

But to rediscover the person you've always been.

Sometimes the strongest people are the ones struggling the most.

Not because they're weak.

But because they've become so used to carrying things on their own.

The person who always says:
"I'm fine."

The one who keeps showing up.
Keeps working.
Keeps supporting everyone else.

The one who rarely asks for help.

From the outside, they can appear strong, capable, and coping well.

But appearances don't always tell the full story.

Sometimes strength becomes a habit.

A way of surviving.

And after a while, people stop asking how you're really doing because they assume you've got everything under control.

The truth is, being strong doesn't mean you have to carry everything alone.

Everyone needs support sometimes.

Everyone needs somewhere they can put the weight down.

🌿 Counselling can offer a space where you don't have to be the strong one for a while.

Have you ever noticed that you're often the one who understands everyone else's point of view?

You understand why they reacted that way.

You understand why they're stressed.

You understand why they're struggling.

You understand why they said what they said.

And somewhere along the way, you become so busy understanding everyone else that you stop paying attention to yourself.

Your needs get pushed aside.

Your feelings get minimised.

Your hurt gets explained away.

Being understanding is a strength.

But not when it comes at the expense of your own wellbeing.

You can be compassionate towards others and still acknowledge that something has hurt you.

You can understand someone's behaviour and still set boundaries.

You can care about others without carrying responsibility for everything they do.

Sometimes the person who deserves your understanding most is you.

One of the hardest lessons in life is learning the difference between what you can control and what you can't.

You can't control:
β€’ what other people think of you
β€’ how others behave
β€’ whether someone understands you
β€’ the choices another person makes
β€’ what has already happened

But many people spend years exhausting themselves trying.

Trying to fix.
Trying to persuade.
Trying to prevent.
Trying to keep everyone happy.

The problem is that the more energy we invest in things outside our control, the less we have available for ourselves.

Sometimes peace begins when we stop fighting battles we were never meant to carry.

And instead focus on what we can influence:

🌿 our choices
🌿 our boundaries
🌿 our responses
🌿 our wellbeing
🌿 how we care for ourselves

Letting go is not giving up.

Sometimes it's the healthiest thing we can do.
