“But what if I don't have anything ‘wrong’ with me?”

It’s an interesting question.

And actually, it’s one we’d like to hear more often.

Because therapy isn't only for the person who has reached breaking point.

It might be for the person who is functioning perfectly well on the outside, but is exhausted from keeping everything together.

The person who has a good job, a loving family and plenty to be grateful for — but still wakes up with a knot in their stomach.

The person who keeps having the same argument with their partner.

The person who has spent years putting everyone else first and has suddenly realised they don't really know what they want anymore.

The person who keeps saying, “I'm fine,” because explaining the truth feels like too much effort.

Or perhaps you're simply at a crossroads and need somewhere to think things through.

There doesn't have to be a dramatic reason to come to therapy.

Sometimes there is simply a feeling that life could be different.

At The Cherry Tree Therapy Centre our face-to-face counsellors and therapists work with people for all sorts of reasons. You don't need to arrive with the right words, a diagnosis or a perfectly formed explanation.

You can start with:

“I'm not really sure what's going on, but I'd like to talk to someone.”

That's enough.

🌿 If that sentence feels familiar, perhaps it's time to have a conversation with us.

“Why is The Cherry Tree Therapy Centre so busy?”

Someone asked this recently at a local networking group. And it got us thinking. We don’t think there’s one single answer.

Maybe it’s because we try to make getting support as straightforward as possible.

We have a large team of therapists, which means we can help people find someone who feels right for them — rather than simply offering whoever happens to be available.

From qualified therapists and low-cost counselling, to specialist services, support groups and workshops.

Over the years, we’ve also become much more than a place for one-to-one therapy.

We run workshops for clients and therapists, provide free groups and resources, and work with local businesses and organisations to deliver wellbeing sessions and workshops for their teams.

Maybe it’s because we’ve become part of the local community.

People recommend us. GPs and other professionals refer to us. Previous clients come back when life changes — or tell someone else about us.

And perhaps, most importantly, people know they can contact us even when they’re not really sure what kind of help they need. We’ll talk it through with them.

The Cherry Tree Therapy Centre has grown a lot over the last 12 years, but the idea behind it has stayed fairly simple: 🌿 Make good therapy easier to find and easier to access.

Maybe that’s the answer. And honestly, if being “busy” means more people are finding their way to the support they need, then we’re very grateful for that.

Thank you to every client, therapist, referrer, local organisation, colleague and supporter who has been part of the Cherry Tree journey so far.

We've built something people trust 🌳

💭 “But I don't even know what I need therapy for…”

You don't have to.

Sometimes you just know that something doesn't feel right.

Maybe you're feeling more anxious than usual.
Maybe you're constantly tired or overwhelmed.
Maybe a relationship has become difficult.
Maybe something from the past is still affecting you.
Or perhaps you simply feel stuck and don't know why.

You don't need to arrive at therapy with a diagnosis, a perfectly explained story or a list of things you want to fix.

🌿 You can simply start with how you're feeling today.

A therapist's role isn't to judge you or tell you what you *should* be feeling. It's to listen, help you explore what's happening and support you in making sense of things at your own pace.

At Cherry Tree Therapy Centre, our team can help you find a therapist who is right for you, even if you're not quite sure where to begin.

🌳 If you've been thinking, “I know I need something, I just don't know what,” that's enough of a reason to start a conversation.

You don't have to have it all figured out before you reach out.

📩 We're here when you're ready.

🌿 We’re delighted to welcome our newest coach to The Cherry Tree Therapy Centre

Please join us in welcoming Craig Stimson – The Agentic Coach to our growing team.

Craig brings a powerful combination of lived experience, senior leadership expertise and professional coaching to his work with neurodivergent leaders.

Growing up, Craig knew he was different. His mind moved fast — sometimes too fast for classrooms, expectations and the systems around him. It was only later in life that he had the language to understand that difference: ADHD.

Craig went on to spend two decades in leadership roles within highly regulated financial services, including Lloyds Banking Group and GMAC ResCap. During this time, he became highly skilled at adapting, performing and masking — something many neurodivergent people will recognise.

Eventually, Craig made a conscious decision to stop managing the mask and start working with the way his brain works.

That journey led to The Agentic Coach, a coaching practice supporting neurodivergent leaders — from emerging managers through to C-suite executives.

Craig’s coaching is built around his P.A.C.T. framework:

🔹 Presence – becoming more aware of yourself and how you show up
🔹 Agency – recognising your ability to make meaningful choices and take action
🔹 Clarity – cutting through overwhelm, noise and decision fatigue
🔹 Transformation – creating sustainable change that works in real life

Craig recognises that the challenges faced by neurodivergent leaders are not always simply personal challenges. Sometimes they are ecosystem challenges, where psychological, structural and cultural change all need to happen together.

With experience working with organisations including Visa, Mastercard, Lloyds Banking Group, Starling Bank, London Stock Exchange Group and Henley Business School, Craig brings both the presence of a coach and a deep understanding of how large, high-pressure organisations actually operate.

He holds an ICF ACC credential and is a certified ADHD Coach.

His coaching supports leaders navigating:

💭 Masking and the exhaustion that can come with it
⚡ Overload and overwhelm
🧩 Decision fatigue
🎯 Leadership confidence and clarity
🌱 Leading differently in systems that weren't designed for neurodivergent minds

Craig offers structured coaching programmes ranging from six weeks to six months, alongside individual coaching sessions.

💬 We’d love to hear from you:
Do you think workplaces are becoming better at understanding and supporting neurodivergent leaders — or do people still feel they have to mask to succeed?

Drop your thoughts in the comments below👇

And if Craig’s approach resonates with you, or someone you know, we’d love to introduce you to Craig and The Agentic Coach at The Cherry Tree Therapy Centre Henley

🌿 5 signs you might benefit from talking to someone

Sometimes we don't realise how much we're struggling until we stop and take notice.

You might benefit from some extra support if:

1️⃣ You're constantly feeling overwhelmed — even small things feel harder than they used to.

2️⃣ Your thoughts won't switch off — you're spending a lot of time worrying, overthinking or going over situations in your mind.

3️⃣ You're putting everyone else first — but rarely have space to think about what you need.

4️⃣ You're not feeling like yourself — perhaps you're more withdrawn, irritable, anxious or tired than usual.

5️⃣ You've been thinking about therapy — and keep telling yourself you'll get around to it "one day".

💚 You don't need to be at breaking point to ask for help.

Sometimes therapy is simply a place to pause, understand what's happening beneath the surface and start making sense of things that have become difficult to manage alone.

If any of these sound familiar, it might be worth having a conversation with us.

At The Cherry Tree Therapy Centre, our team can help you explore whether counselling could be right for you and talk you through the next steps. You don't have to know exactly what you need before you get in touch.

🌳 If you've been thinking about therapy, perhaps this is your sign to take that first little step.

🌿 What if reaching out was easier than you imagined?

Making the decision to start therapy can feel daunting.

You might wonder what you'll say, whether you'll be judged, or whether your problems are even "big enough" to talk about.

But you don't need to have everything worked out before you contact us.

You don't need to know exactly which type of therapy you need.

And you certainly don't need to have the perfect words.

🌳That's what we're here for.

At The Cherry Tree Therapy Centre, our friendly team can talk things through with you, answer your questions and help you find a therapist or coach who is suited to your needs and circumstances.

Your first conversation doesn't commit you to anything. Sometimes it's simply about asking a question and seeing how you feel. And that small step can be the beginning of something really positive.

If you've been thinking about therapy for a while, perhaps this is your gentle reminder that it's okay to reach out.

📩 Contact The Cherry Tree Therapy Centre to find out more about counselling and the support available to you.

🌿 Sexual trust is an important part of a healthy intimate relationship — but it’s something many couples don’t talk about until it has been damaged.

We often think of trust as knowing our partner will be faithful, honest and reliable. But s*xual trust goes deeper. ❤️

It’s about feeling emotionally and physically safe enough to be vulnerable. It means being able to talk openly about s*x, express what you want or don’t want, change your mind, say no without fear of rejection or resentment, and know that your boundaries will be respected.

Sexual trust doesn’t mean always wanting the same things, having the same level of desire, or never experiencing difficulties in your s*x life. Differences are normal.

What matters is how those differences are handled.

Can you talk about your needs without fear of judgement?

Can you say no and still feel loved and respected?

Can you be honest about what feels good — or what doesn’t?

Can you trust that your feelings and boundaries will be taken seriously?

For some couples, s*xual trust develops naturally. For others, it can be affected by differences in desire, past experiences, communication difficulties, changes within the relationship, or betrayal that has made intimacy feel unsafe.

The good news is that s*xual trust can be understood, strengthened and rebuilt. 🌱

Our new blog explores what s*xual trust really means and how it can help couples create a more secure, connected and satisfying intimate relationship.

Sexual trust is an important part of a healthy intimate relationship, but it is something many couples rarely talk about until it has been damaged. We tend to think of trust as knowing that our partner will be faithful, honest, or reliable. Sexual trust includes those things, but it goes further.

🌿 You can look like you're coping… and still not be okay.

You can go to work.

You can look after everyone else.

You can laugh with your friends.

You can get through the day and tell everyone, "I'm fine."

And still feel exhausted, overwhelmed, anxious or disconnected inside.

Sometimes the people who seem to be coping the best are the ones who have become very good at hiding how much they're carrying.

You don't have to wait until everything falls apart before you ask for support.

🌳 Therapy can give you somewhere to put down the things you've been carrying alone.

A safe space to talk honestly.
A space where you don't have to look after anyone else.
A space where your feelings matter.

If reading this feels a little too familiar, perhaps it's worth asking yourself:

"How much longer do I want to keep carrying this on my own?"

At The Cherry Tree Therapy Centre, we're here when you're ready. You don't need to know exactly what you need or what to say — our friendly team can help you take that first step and find the right support for you.
