My name is Leah Gallagher and I am a certified Lactation Consultant. I offer home visits throughout Herefordshire to provide one to one breastfeeding advice and support. In my experience women are more likely to stop breastfeeding before they are ready when they experience problems such as sore nipples, low milk supply and general infant difficulties with feeding. With the right support and advice

women can overcome these difficulties and are then able to breastfeed their babies in complete comfort for as long as they want.

Yesterday, the Government announced that Martha's Rule will be rolled out across all maternity and neonatal services in England.

This important change gives women, families and carers the right to request an urgent review if they are worried that a mother or baby's condition is getting worse and they feel their concerns are not being listened to.

Every family deserves to be heard. Listening to parents and carers is a vital part of providing safe, compassionate maternity care.
