We have also enjoyed musical entertainment in the garden. The marvellous Mansel came to visit and serenaded us, filling the afternoon with music, laughter, and smiles. Meet the Manager Afternoon ☕

On Monday we had a lovely Meet the Manager afternoon, giving our new manager Kate the chance to come down and have a relaxed chat with our Residents and some of our families.
It was a great excuse to get the best china out and enjoy some outstanding cakes made by our amazing kitchen team and Residents. 🫖🍰 Kate was kept busy chatting with everyone and handing out the sweet treats!
Thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a lovely afternoon.

Coming up… On 25th September at 2:30pm, it’s Ali’s Leaving Party! We’ve gone with a 1920s theme, so dress up if you dare! 🎩

Our residents have been busy baking in preparation for lunch tomorrow! 🧁🍰
With the tireless help of the fabulous Jay-Jay, they made light work of whipping up three cheesecakes and a Victoria sponge slab cake!

We then moved on to choir practice, where we had great fun writing a few jingles… but we’re keeping quiet about what they might be for! 🎶😉 Let’s just say there may have been a few festive hints in the air, but we’re not quite ready to mention the C-word just yet! 🎄🤫

Our calendar has also been sent off to the printers! This year, it includes some of our favourite family recipes too. 📅❤️ We’ll let you know when it arrives and is available to purchase!

Newstead residents had an afternoon filled with music, dancing and fun! 💃🕺
Music really is the language of all ages, bringing people together and creating special moments. Our inner dancers are always there, just waiting to be let out! 🎵😊
It was lovely to see everyone joining in, having fun and enjoying the music together.

A Lovely Visit to Hereford! 🌸

Newstead House residents enjoyed a lovely visit to Hereford this morning. We had a browse around the market before visiting the Butter Market, where we picked up some delicious cheese, quiche and pork pies. 🧀🥧
We then sat in town, watching the world go by while enjoying a lovely cuppa. ☕😊
We also bumped into some old friends and had the pleasure of chatting to some new ones along the way. ❤️
A very special thank you to Moni, and especially to Paula, who kindly came in on her day off to join us. 😁 We hope you enjoyed the shopping trip as much as we did!
A huge thank you to the chaps and our lovely Carol at Dial-a-Ride for taking such great care of us and getting us safely into Hereford and back. 🚐😊
A wonderful morning out, filled with good food, great company, friendly faces and lovely memories! ❤️

A New Chapter at Newstead ❤️

You may have seen me mentioning Kate recently, and we’re now delighted to officially introduce her to the Newstead family! 💕
After many years with us, Ali has decided that it’s time for her to retire and enjoy a well-deserved new chapter. ❤️
It’s a very bittersweet time for the Newstead family, as Ali has been such a special part of our home and our lives. We’ll let you know Ali’s last day once everything is confirmed.
In the meantime, we’re very excited to welcome Kate as our new Manager. Please come and join us on the afternoon of Monday 7th September from 2:30pm for cake, pastries and a chat, and to meet Kate and give her a warm Newstead welcome. 🧁☕️
Ali won’t be disappearing completely, as she’ll be working on a special project with Heritage Manor, so we’re sure we’ll still be seeing her from time to time. 🥰

We Came, We Ate, We Fundraised!😊

Right here it is… our lovely Sophie has tallied up the numbers, and we have raised a MASSIVE £686 for the Residents’ Fund! 🎉👏
Our Summer Food Fayre was an amazing success, and we would like to say a huge THANK YOU to the whole team who worked so hard to make the day so special. ❤️
A special thank you to:
🌸 Belinda, who came in on her day off — always happy to roll up her sleeves and help with anything!
🌿 Zoli, for coming in on Saturday, making the garden look lovely and supporting the set-up.
🔥 Archie and Kate’s sister Mandy, for manning the BBQ and helping us set up.
💪 Miha, for always being our right-hand lady and supporting the team.
🍦 Steve, Jesse’s partner, for donating the ice cream and manning the stall.
❤️ Kate, for getting stuck in and helping wherever needed.
🦸‍♀️ Jay-Jay, for being the absolute marvel that she is!
🍋 Hayley, for baking those fabulous gluten-free lemon drizzles.
🎟️ Sophie, for always being chief in charge of the raffle tickets!
🍰 Sandra, for helping to man the cake stall.

This was your first ever major event at Newstead, and you did an amazing job getting stuck in and supporting the team. We are so pleased to have you as part of the Newstead family! ❤️👏
A huge thank you to our amazing Care Team, Housekeeping Team and Kitchen Team for all your help and support on the day. ❤️ Your hard work and teamwork helped make the day such a success, and it is very much appreciated. 👏🌟
It makes me so proud to work at Newstead and be part of such an outstanding team. 💕
A massive thank you also goes to all our families and friends, new and old, who came along, supported us and helped make the event so special.
Most importantly, the day gave our residents purpose, joy and the opportunity to share, participate and entertain, and that is what makes events like this so worthwhile. 🥰

🌞🌸 Our First Summer Food Fayre! 🌸🌞

What a fantastic day we had! 🥰 Our very first Summer Food Fayre went better than we could have imagined!
We had lovely visits from old friends, made some lovely new ones, and enjoyed plenty of happy faces, laughter and conversation. ❤️
🧁 The cakes flew into happy bellies!
🍦 The ice cream brought back a taste of our youth!
🎨 Face painting brought plenty of smiles!
🎶 And the fabulous Gadzukes Ukulele Players had everyone enjoying the music!
A massive thank you to our amazing residents who made the cakes. 🎂❤️ You truly outdid yourselves, proving that the proof is indeed in the pudding! 😁👏
It was so lovely seeing residents, loved ones, friends and visitors popping in, chatting and enjoying the day together. The support you all gave us was truly outstanding, and we cannot thank you enough. 💕
A big thank you to everyone who donated prizes for our raffle. Your generosity was truly appreciated and helped make the day even more special. 🎟️❤️
A huge shout-out to the amazing team who worked so hard on the day, and a very special thank you to Belinda, Miha, Jay-Jay, Archie, Ruby, Kate and her family, Zoli and Sarah. 🥰

🌞🎉 Only 3 sleeps to go until the Newstead House Summer Food Fayre! 🎉🌞

Our residents have been busy wrapping raffle prizes 🎁, volunteering to run stalls 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️, and our amazing kitchen team 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳 have been baking up a storm with lots of delicious homemade treats! 🍰🧁
We're so excited that The Gadzukes 🎶 will be joining us to keep everyone entertained, and we'll have:
🌭 Burgers & hot dogs
🍦 ice creams for just £1
🍰 Cakes galore
🎟️ A fantastic raffle (tickets on sale until 3:15pm on the day)
A huge thank you to Golden Valley Meats for kindly donating a wonderful hamper for our raffle! 🧺❤️
Come along and see Newstead House and our amazing residents at their very best. It's set to be a beautiful afternoon filled with delicious food, fantastic entertainment, great company, and lots of fun. We can't wait to welcome you all! ☀️😊

What a wonderful time we've had at Newstead House 🎶💚
We've been enjoying the sunshine and spending time together in our lovely garden, making the most of the glorious weather.
A huge thank you to the fabulous Diane, who treated us to the soothing sounds of her harp, creating such a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. 🎵✨
Then today, the amazing Tracey had everyone singing along, clapping, and even getting us up off our benches for a dance! 💃🕺 Our garden was filled with laughter, music, and happiness as everyone joined in and enjoyed themselves. We're certainly living our best lives! 🌸☀️
Thank you both for bringing so much joy to our residents. We can't wait to welcome you back! ❤️
