Our next Patient Participation Group (PPG) meeting will take place on Tuesday, 18th August, at Station Medical Centre, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

-We're looking for a compassionate and experienced Registered Practice Nurse!

-Delivering high quality primary care including chronic disease reviews, cervical screening, immunisations, wound care, ECGs and health promotion. The role involves working independently and within a multidisciplinary team, supporting HCAs, assisting with urgent patient needs, and maintaining safe clinical environments.

-Opportunities for ongoing professional development and involvement in practice quality improvement are included.

-If you're a proactive, patient-focused Registered Nurse with experience in primary care and chronic disease management, we'd love to hear from you.

It's International Day of Friendship! 🎉

Every 30th of July, people all over the world pause to celebrate the ridiculous, wonderful, completely underrated superpower that is friendship. No fancy plans required. Just good company and a bit of gratitude.

So go on — text that mate you've been meaning to call back, grab a coffee with someone who makes you laugh, or just tell a friend they're brilliant (because they are). Friendship doesn't care about distance, language, or how long it's been since you last spoke. It just picks up right where it left off.

We are pleased to announce that after a successful roll out of the pilot practices we are now ready to place your practice live with the new NHS App.

-Access
This allows patients to submit admin and clinical enquiries directly through the NHS App — the same experience they already have online, now through the App.

The App access mirrors that of the patient form so enquiries cannot be submitted when tiles or the patient form are not open.

-Symptom selection
It includes an alphabetical symptom list with a single text box for all selected symptoms — no repetitive questions about each symptom.

-Photo uploads
Patients can attach photos directly to their submission from their phone.

-Dashboard & data export
App submissions appear in your existing dashboard with full data export available.

ProUI
-Each enquiry submitted through the App is hard linked to the same unit as they are in the patient form with selection per site options available where they already exist.

-Within our Knowledge Base, (link below) you can find practice and patient information including videos and a poster that can be downloaded and used to promote use of the App.

Important update about the My Health and Wellbeing Patient Portal:

We'd like to let you know about an important change to the My Health and Wellbeing patient portal, which is used by patients across Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

-What's changing?

The current My Health and Wellbeing patient portal will close on Tuesday 4th August 2026. This is because the company that supports the portal is no longer able to provide the service.

A new patient portal is already being developed and is expected to launch in autumn 2026.

-What does this mean for you?

From 4 August 2026, you will no longer be able to access the current patient portal.

Until the new portal is available:

You won't be able to view your hospital outpatient appointment letters or clinic letters online through the patient portal.

These letters will also not be available through the NHS App during this temporary period.

-How will I receive my hospital information?

While the new portal is being introduced, we will continue to keep you informed by sending:

Hospital appointment letters by post.
Clinic letters and other important correspondence by post.

Please be assured that you will continue to receive the information you need in good time to support your care.

Awareness Day 24/7 / , 24th July

Samaritans is a charity that prevents su***de through the power of human connection, and Samaritans Awareness Day takes place on the 24th of July to highlight the fact that they are available to listen 24/7 and to raise awareness and funds.

You can help by donating or fundraising to help keep their call centres open and staffed by highly-trained volunteers. There are lots of fundraising ideas and resources on their website,

Today is World Brain Day 🧠💙

Neurological disorders claim 11 million lives annually. Crucially, 81% of these deaths occur in low and middle income countries where access to care is most limited. This mortality gap is an urgent reminder that healthcare is a human right, not a geographical privilege.

3.4 billion people which is 42% of the world live with a neurological condition. Brain disorders are now the leading cause of global disability. This World Brain Day, let's advocate for . 🧠
