Roald Dahl Story Day is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the much-loved stories and characters that have entertained generations.

We'll be marking the day across our homes with plenty of opportunities for reminiscence, storytelling and enjoying some of Roald Dahl's most memorable tales together.

From Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to The BFG and Matilda, we're sure there'll be plenty of familiar favourites to bring back memories and spark conversation!

Happy Birthday, Jim!

There was lots of laughter at Lynhales Hall as Jim celebrated his birthday with staff and fellow residents.

Jim especially enjoyed singing along with everyone – although the highlight of the day may have been getting stuck into a lovely big slice of birthday cake!

Happy 96th Birthday, Sylvia!

There were plenty of smiles as Sylvia celebrated her 96th birthday with her sons Tony, Colin and Richard, and daughters-in-law Jill and Pauline.

The family enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea together, reminiscing about Sylvia’s famous cherry pies – especially the ones her sons remember half-eaten on the windowsill while they were meant to be cooling!

A beautiful afternoon spent with family and lots of happy memories. Happy birthday, Sylvia!

A huge congratulations to Saranya, Healthcare Assistant in the John Sperry Unit, who has been named Employee of the Quarter at Lynhales Hall!

Saranya brings such a wonderful sense of comfort and ‘home’ to Lynhales. A resident’s wife shared how her natural warmth and genuine kindness towards her husband make it clear that she is exactly where she is meant to be.

Thank you, Saranya, for everything you do for our residents. You’re a real credit to the care profession!

A Lovely Afternoon of Music

We had a lovely afternoon at Lynhales Hall with Jemma, who entertained our residents with a selection of well-known songs from past and present.

Everyone enjoyed joining in with favourites including 'It’s a Long Way to Tipperary, Daisy Daisy and Coat of Many Colours', with plenty of singing, smiles and laughter along the way.

Afterwards, everyone enjoyed a cup of tea, coffee and cake and we’re already looking forward to seeing Jemma again soon!

Getting creative at Lynhales Hall

Fran enjoyed a lovely afternoon of arts and crafts with her partner Roger, painting the clay models they made earlier. The models will be used in the miniature gardens for Herefordshire Growing Point in Credenhil

It was lovely to see them enjoying the activity together, with plenty of creativity, conversation and, of course, tea, coffee and cake along the way.

A Little Harvest at Lynhales Hall

One of our keenest gardeners, Jeff, has been busy in the garden harvesting the new potatoes he helped plant earlier this year.

With a background as a gardener at Dorfold Hall Estate after returning from National Service, Jeff clearly knows his way around the garden!

The potatoes were enjoyed at teatime, a lovely reward for all his hard work.

We’re Taking On The Rotherwood Walk!

With just two weeks to go, the Lynhales Hall team are getting ready to take on The Rotherwood Walk on Wednesday 16th September, as part of National Fitness Day.

Our team will be joined by residents, volunteers and families as we get our walking boots on and head along the Lynhales drive and back, all while raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

We’ll set off at 11am, followed by an afternoon BBQ and musical entertainment from Sean Saye at 2pm.

We’d love your support as our Lynhales team takes on the challenge. Every donation makes a difference!

Celebrating National Dog Day at Lynhales!

We had lots of fun celebrating National Dog Day at Lynhales Hall with a creative afternoon of colouring and painting.

Residents chose their favourite dog pictures to bring to life, and there was plenty of creativity on show as everyone got busy with their colours.

A Little Upgrade at Lynhales Hall!

There’s been a little update to our dining room at Lynhales Hall, with Steve, our Maintenance Operative fitting some lovely new wooden doors.

Residents enjoyed watching Steve at work and were happy to see the new doors taking shape – with one simple verdict from the day: “Looking good, Steve!”
