An exciting community event is being hosted by the Mayor of Elmbridge – the Elmbridge Together Family Fun Run, taking place on Sunday 20th September.
The event is designed to bring people together for a fun, inclusive afternoon that celebrates the strength of our community. Participants can choose to run or walk a scenic 5km route along the River Thames, starting and finishing at the Xcel Sports Hub . There will also be a dedicated 2km run for children aged under 11, making it an event for the whole family.
As well as promoting health, wellbeing and community spirit, the event will raise funds for the Mayor’s charities for the year - The Mayor of Elmbridge Trust Fund, which supports residents in need across the borough, particularly young people and Elmbridge CAN. During warm weather, going for a swim can provide much welcomed relief. However, open water swimming can increase the risk of gastrointestinal illnesses, or stomach bugs. If you are going into open water to cool-down, take care and follow safety advice to reduce the risk of getting ill.
