Type 2 diabetes aimed question I read. The answers were shocking!

What's the one food you know you should cut back on, but keep going back to?

The replies were:

cake, white rice, white bread, white bread, refined sugars, sweets, sugary coffees, takeaway fried chicken! This is the short list.

Consistently high blood glucose can lead to stroke, heart attack, kidney failure, nerve damage, amputation, and loss of vision.

Why would you actively eat your way to these destinations hurting yourself and your loved ones?

There has to be another way to get your fix!

And there is with smart swaps and healthy cheats. Eating in the right way to cut the cravings!

Why harm your body with UPFs when you can improve it and watch your HbA1C number fall by managing your nutrition in the right way without feeling deprived.

Apparently, if you’re trying to lose weight or manage your blood sugar, you should be terrified of carbs.

So… I’m breaking the rules. 😏
I eat wholegrain oats.

Because carbs aren’t automatically the problem.
It’s about the type, portion, what you pair them with, and how they fit into YOUR overall diet.

Wholegrain oats can provide fibre and help make a breakfast more satisfying — especially when paired with protein and healthy fats.

The goal isn’t to fear food.
It’s to understand food. 🥣❤️

And if you’ve been told you need to “cut carbs” to lose weight or manage your blood sugar…
Maybe it’s time to stop fearing carbs and start learning how to use them.

Constant thirst can sometimes be a sign that your blood sugar is running higher than it should.

It doesn’t automatically mean you have diabetes — but if excessive thirst is happening regularly, especially alongside frequent urination or unusual tiredness, it’s worth speaking to your GP and getting your blood sugar checked.
Your body gives you clues. ❤️

Don’t ignore them. You may need yo look at your nutrition and lifestyle to create positive changes.

Could your body be giving you clues about pre-diabetes? 👀

Pre-diabetes often has no obvious symptoms, which is why it can be so easy to miss.

But some people may notice things such as:
1️⃣ Feeling unusually tired
2️⃣ Feeling very thirsty
3️⃣ Needing to urinate more often
4️⃣ Feeling hungry soon after eating
5️⃣ Changes in weight that you can't easily explain

⚠️ These symptoms can have many different causes, so they don't automatically mean you have pre-diabetes.

The only way to know is through appropriate blood glucose testing with a healthcare professional.

If you're over 30, struggling with your weight, energy, or blood sugar, don't wait until you're told there's a problem.

Small, consistent changes to your food, movement and lifestyle can make a difference. 💚

You can have all the “right” foods in your kitchen and still feel completely overwhelmed by food choices.

Managing diabetes isn’t just about carbs, calories, or knowing which foods are on the “good” or “bad” list.

It’s also about your relationship with food. 🧠

Why do you reach for certain foods when you’re stressed?
Why do you feel guilty after eating something you enjoy?
Why does one “off-plan” meal turn into an “I’ve ruined it anyway” mindset?

Understanding your food psychology can help you make more confident, sustainable choices — without feeling like you’re constantly dieting.

💚 You don't need to fear food.
💚 You don't need perfection.
💚 You need to understand what works for you.

If you're a woman 30+ struggling with weight loss, blood sugar, or your relationship with food.

I was told that I would never be able to eat bread, potatoes, rice, pasta, or desserts ever again.

This was overwhelming and not true!

So I decided to get educated.

I learnt how to food pair.
I learnt about macros and portioning.
I learnt about eating the right calories for me.
I learnt about tracking for progress, not perfection
I learnt about choice!

Knowledge in abundance helped me to take responsibility for independence and a life without meds.

The noise became quiet, clarity.
The calm was welcomed like an old friend.
Food became a normal part of my day.
I enjoyed going out for dinner.
I love that I get to choose.

I have 3 decades of experience navigating pre, and type 2 diabetes through wholefoods nutrition, weight loss & no medication.

I'm proud to be a remission living my best life.

I am a nutrition coach helping people to regain their confidence around food.

I provide 1 to 1 support with daily coaching, nutrition & meal planning.
