Starting secondary school, sixth form or college is an exciting milestone, but it can also bring a mixture of excitement, uncertainty and worries. As September gets closer, here are a few simple ways to help make the transition easier:

✨ Build confidence by focusing on what they're looking forward to.
✨ Talking to friends and family about any worries.
✨ Don't be afraid to ask questions.
✨ Start getting back into a healthy sleep routine before term begins.
✨ Remember that it takes time to settle in and make new friendships.

Whether you're preparing your young person for Year 7, sixth form or college, looking after wellbeing is just as important as getting uniform, timetable or supplies ready.

Mental Health Services understand it might not always be possible for your child/teenager to attend their appointment, or it might be difficult for you to take them, especially during the school holidays. If you can’t make it, please help by letting the service know as soon as you can. Then they can rearrange a new time for you/your child and offer the old appointment to another child or young person who is waiting.

Roma Holocaust Memorial Day - Today we remember the hundreds of thousands of Roma and Sinti people who were persecuted and murdered during the Holocaust.
Roma Holocaust Memorial Day is a time to reflect on the importance of compassion, inclusion and standing together against discrimination, prejudice and hate.
By remembering the past, we can help build a future where everyone feels respected, valued and safe to be themselves. Small acts of kindness, understanding and acceptance help create stronger, more connected communities for everyone.
Take a moment today to learn more, remember those who lost their lives and stand in solidarity with Roma communities.

The summer holidays are a chance for children and young people to recharge, explore and make memories. 💚
Wellbeing doesn't always have to mean expensive days out. A walk in the park, meeting friends, visiting a local playground or having a picnic can all boost mood and help families reconnect.
Small moments outdoors can make a big difference to mental wellbeing.
