Lots of enquires about verrucas and corns the last few weeks so lets breakdown the two.

🚨🚨VERRUCAS vs CORNS — CAN YOU TELL THE DIFFERENCE? 🚨🚨
Although verrucas and corns can sometimes look very similar, they are not the same thing and require different treatments.

VERRUCAS
• Caused by the HPV virus
• Often found on the soles of the feet
• May have tiny black dots within them
• Can interrupt the natural skin lines
• Can spread to other areas or to other people

CORNS
• Caused by pressure and friction
• Usually have a hard, thickened centre
• Commonly develop over areas of pressure
• Can be painful, particularly when walking
• Often linked to footwear, foot shape or pressure points
‼️WHY IT'S IMPORTANT TO GET THE RIGHT DIAGNOSIS‼️
For someone who isn't trained in foot health, it can be surprisingly easy to mistake a verruca for a corn — or a corn for a verruca.
Treating the wrong condition incorrectly can cause skin damage, increased pain and potentially make the problem worse.
