🎉 Busy, Busy, Busy at Carntyne! 🎉
We never sit still here at Carntyne, May and this month has been no exception!
Our residents have been enjoying a fantastic variety of activities, from outings and group puzzles to visits from therapy dogs, baking sessions, drawing, and so much more. There has been plenty of laughter, friendship, creativity, and fun along the way.
We love keeping active, trying new things, and making the most of every day. Whether it's exercising our minds with a puzzle, getting creative with arts and crafts, or spending time out and about, there's always something exciting happening.
As we move into another wonderful month, we're looking forward to even more adventures, activities, and happy memories with our amazing residents. ❤️

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Derek Hodgson to perform for our residents. His Elvis impressions were absolutely stellar, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful summer dance afternoon filled with music, laughter, and great memories! 🎶💃🕺

💜 Dementia Awareness Week at Carntyne 💜
This week we came together to celebrate Dementia Awareness Week and raise awareness throughout our home. Residents enjoyed taking part in discussions about what dementia is, how it can affect people, and the importance of understanding and supporting those living with it.
We also put our knowledge to the test with a fun dementia awareness quiz and enjoyed a wonderful purple-themed afternoon tea, complete with plenty of treats, laughter, and conversation. 💜☕
The week was a fantastic opportunity to learn, share experiences, and support one another, all while having lots of fun. Congratulations to all of our quiz winners – there were some fabulous prizes up for grabs! 🎉🏆
A big thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the week such a success. Together, we continue to create a caring and supportive community where every mind matters. 💜

📖✨ A Journey Through Hexham's History ✨📖
We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Alan Woods, supported by his daughter Anna English, who joined us for a fascinating afternoon sharing his experiences of growing up in the Hexham area from 1935 onwards.
Alan's stories offered a interesting glimpse into life in years gone by and sparked many conversations amongst our residents. Some were able to relate to the memories shared, while others enjoyed learning about a different time and way of life. It was inspiring to hear firsthand accounts of local history and the changes that have taken place over the decades.
A huge thank you to Alan and Anna for taking the time to visit us and provide such an engaging, interesting, and thought-provoking afternoon. Our residents thoroughly enjoyed it and loved the opportunity to reminisce, learn, and share their own memories.
Thank you both for a truly memorable visit. ❤️

The training is always on time and easily accessible.
It’s always better to do training with others as you learn more by listening to others

All the training we get is very helpful. We need them so that we can upgrade our skills. The access to the training is good.

Carntyne Residential Care home is more like home, I'm terms of the settings and cordial relationship that exists between the staff, working as a team.

Higher management participate in monthly team meetings, to show staff they are valued by everyone.

I feel very much supported by Management and my employer. We always do face to face training and online training. We are very happy with the bank holiday pay rate.

The sun is on its way, and to celebrate we enjoyed one of our fan favourites… Cocktail Afternoon! ☀️🍹
Residents loved ordering their favourite cocktails and mocktails while chatting about everything from go-to drinks to happy memories that involved a drink or two… or three! 😄
We believe in responsible fun here at Carotene, and afternoons like these are always full of laughter, stories, and great company.

OUT, OUT, OUT! ☀️
Our residents have been out and about more than ever as Hexham slowly heats up! From enjoying days out to getting involved in lots of fun activities here at home, there’s never a dull moment.
We’ve been up to all sorts — from balloons to bowls, and even celebrating Hand Hygiene Day by brushing up on our knowledge about the importance of keeping our hands clean! 🧼🙌
It’s been wonderful seeing everyone enjoying themselves, staying active, and making the most of the brighter days ahead. 🌼
