🚨 IMPORTANT PRACTICE UPDATE 🚨

Due to unforeseen circumstances, our surgery is extremely limited in GP appointment availability over the next 3 days.

Unfortunately, this situation is completely outside of our control, and we sincerely apologise for the disruption and inconvenience this may cause to our patients. We are doing everything we can to provide the safest possible service and accommodate patients where we can.

If you are unable to obtain a GP appointment and require urgent medical advice, please make use of NHS 111 or your local Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC). If you are experiencing a genuine medical emergency, please attend A&E or call 999.

We anticipate that our normal GP appointment availability will resume from Tuesday next week.

We appreciate that this may be frustrating and thank you for your patience, understanding and kindness towards our staff while we manage this unexpected situation. ❤️

💙 Every appointment counts.

Between 1st May 2026 and 31st July 2026, our practice lost over 39 hours of clinical appointments because patients did not attend and did not let us know.

We completely understand that life can be unpredictable and that emergencies happen. If you're unable to attend your appointment, we simply ask that you let us know as soon as you can.

By cancelling appointments you no longer need, we can offer them to another patient who may be waiting for care. It only takes a moment to let us know, but it can make a huge difference to someone else.

Thank you to all of our patients who remember to cancel appointments they can't attend. Your support helps us make the best possible use of our appointments and ensures more patients can access the care they need. 💙

👋 Meet our new GP – Dr Rauf!

We’re really pleased to share some exciting news with our patients!

From the beginning of September, Dr Rauf will be joining Hibaldstow Medical Practice as a Salaried GP. 🩺

Dr Rauf has over 14 years’ experience working as a GP and will be joining our clinical team 2 days a week.

Her arrival will give us some additional GP capacity, helping us to offer a little more flexibility with appointments and support our existing team in providing care for our patients.

We know that being able to see a GP when you need to is important, so we’re very pleased to be able to strengthen our team and increase our capacity, while continuing to make the best use of the appointments available.

We’re really looking forward to welcoming Dr Rauf to the practice and introducing her to you all.

Please join us in giving her a very warm welcome to Hibaldstow Medical Practice! 💙👋

💊Did you know that hot weather changes how your body responds to medications and how well they work?

With a few simple steps, you can avoid problems this summer:
✅Store medication in a cool, dry place and leave them out of direct sunlight
✅Drink plenty of water and listen to your body
✅Check if your medication increases your risk of sunburn by reading the information leaflet or speaking with a pharmacist

Hot weather can make open water inviting, but it can be more dangerous than it looks.
Many water related incidents happening during spring and summer when people are spending time with friends near rivers, lakes, canals and at the coast. Even when the weather feels particularly warm, the water can still be dangerously cold and hazards below the surface can pose serious risks.
Before taking a dip in this heat remember:
🌊 Never jump into unknown water
🤝 Stay with friends and look out for each other
🚫 Avoid dares and risky behaviour around water
🛟 If someone you're with gets into difficulty, tell them to float on their back and if you can, throw them something that floats so they can grab it
