👶🏽The reason induction of labour is recommended is so that your baby will be born sooner than if you waited. But that doesn't always happen.

⏰Induction of labour can take a long time. And sometimes you'll go into hospital on the date you've been given and then have to wait, sometimes for days, before there are staff & space available for you.

Here are some other things I'd love you to know:
〰️I'm not anti-induction (I chose one myself).
〰️Sometimes induction is a good idea.
〰️It has to be the right decision FOR YOU.
〰️A stretch & sweep is a form of induction.
〰️Some of the evidence around induction that you might be told about isn't very robust (listen to ep 209 of The great birth rebellion podcast
podcast)
〰️Get informed - read everything & anything by Dr Sara Wickham
(the G.O.A.T. when it comes to induction!)
