Common misconception: a smooth forehead does not always mean a youthful face.

One of the biggest things I see is patients focusing on just one area (usually the forehead), when ageing is actually happening much more globally.

Treating one area in isolation can work well for a while. But over time, it can start to highlight other changes instead. A beautifully smooth forehead alongside a mid or lower face that is losing support can sometimes create a subtle imbalance.

Because ageing does not just happen where we see lines.
It shows up as changes in skin quality, loss of structure, shifting fat pads, and reduced support across the whole face.

I often explain the face in thirds:
The upper face, the mid-face, and the lower face. And the real magic happens when these areas stay balanced with each other.

When I assess your face (yes… the close inspection, the photos, the little markings), I am never just looking at the one thing that bothers you. I am looking at how everything works together, because that is how we get the most natural, long-lasting results.

And this does not mean lots of treatments or dramatic changes. Most of the time it means small, thoughtful tweaks, done at the right time, in the right place, to keep everything supported and in harmony.

Because the best aesthetic work should be undetectable.
My aim is simple - for people to tell you that you look really well, without ever quite knowing why.

One of the biggest fears I hear in clinic is:
“I just do not want to look done.”

The truth is, good aesthetics should be invisible.

Most people are surprised when I tell them they will have walked past multiple people that day who have had treatments…they just did not realise. Because the best results are subtle, balanced, and simply make someone look well.

Aesthetics should never be about looking different. It should be about looking like yourself on a reaaally good day.

If someone can tell exactly what you have had done, it usually means too much has been done, too quickly, or without looking at the whole face.

My approach is always the same: natural, thoughtful, and never overdone.

POV: You try to film a professional clinic video but your face has other plans.

Things I learned from my filming day:
1. I have absolutely no control over my face
2. The camera does add 10 chins
3. I forget I am being filmed within about 3 seconds
4. I laugh at my own patients’ jokes far too much

In all seriousness, I like to think it helps patients relax when they see I am just a normal person who does not take herself too seriously. Aesthetics can feel intimidating enough without a poker face.

If you cannot laugh at yourself, what can you do?

Relaxing muscle movement alone can soften lines, but it does not address the bigger picture. Skin quality, collagen loss and subtle volume changes all play a role in how refreshed and healthy your face looks.

This is why some people feel underwhelmed after repeated toxin treatments. The face may move less, but the skin can still look tired, flat or lacking vitality.

In my clinic, I always look beyond the default approach. I assess skin health, collagen support and volume loss alongside wrinkle treatment, so results look balanced, natural and truly rejuvenated, not just frozen.

I have been quietly searching for this for a looong time.
