Less than three years ago, Emily Millward and her premature daughter, Erin, were both fighting for their lives at Arrowe Park Hospital 💙

Born 15 weeks early, Erin weighed just 1.5lbs - about the same as a bag of icing sugar - while Emily was critically ill and receiving care in Intensive Care.

This September, Emily will return to the very building where they were cared for - not as a patient, but to abseil down the side of the hospital in aid of WUTH Charity.

Good luck, Emily - we'll all be cheering you on! 👏

How are people managing in the heat again ? We’ve been (very gratefully) inundated with biscuits and sweets and they will have to go in the fridge before they melt. If they last that long! Usually they get eaten with a cup of tea or coffee fairly quickly here 😂
You can’t win wearing funeral attire in this country. Either you get cold and freezing and usually soaking wet round muddy graves in cemeteries and Churchyards, or you wash cars and then it rains , or the sun starts drying water marks before you’re finished , or it’s ( don’t say it, don’t say it!) too hot 🥵.
Air conditioning turned up and tee shirts at the ready when we aren’t out on funerals in full suits. We were even told one hot day last week that our staff could wear whatever they want and not to worry about wearing suits on a funeral the next day as the family were worrying about us with the weather we were expecting. (We still did wear our uniforms, but without the waistcoats for a change)
People thinking of us the way they do is very rewarding , and although we are all moaning about the heat at the moment , we wish everyone a peaceful weekend and hope you get to enjoy the weather (not in formal clothing😂) x
