Fantastic to see two of our British Nordic Walking instructors featured on ITV News.

Stephen and Norma Bond were spotlighted in a feature exploring how Nordic Walking can support both physical and mental wellbeing, leading walkers along the beautiful coastal paths around Porthcawl.

I've taken this from somewhere else but thought it was a great illustration of just one of the many benefits of Nordic walking.
I've been laid (excuse the joke) up for a while awaiting foot surgery. All done and healing well...walks will resume soon...

How far do you need to Nordic walk to earn a cream egg?

Let’s break it down...
1 Cadbury Cream Egg = approx. 177 calories.

Here’s what that looks like in Nordic walking terms:

🥚 Walk nearly 3 km = 1 cream egg
🥚🥚 Walk about 6 km = 2 cream eggs
🥚🥚🥚 Smash out an 8.5 KM walk. That’s 3 cream eggs in the bank!

Nordic walking burns more calories than regular walking – so yes, your poles really do earn their keep!

So this is my practice walk buddy, Star the crazy sprocker who drags me round at super speed!!!
Before each Nordic walk group we do several runs to check conditions and do the risk assesement.
This afternoon I welcomed 10 new walkers for their first of 3 lessons to 'learn to (Nordic) walk at Burbage common and woods. We stormed through several of the 10 steps and made great progress. Everyone was walking super confidently with their poles and mastering today's focal points beautifully. Looking forward to completing the course with these walkers and then continuing with our 'just (nordic) walk' groups around the Hinckley and Bosworth area.
I will be holding more 'Learn to (nordic) walk' groups in the near future.
