Today, we’re sharing Tori’s story 💙

✨ What role did you work in before joining Visiting Angels?

Before joining Visiting Angels I worked in a few different roles, including in a leisure centre as a lifeguard and later in a clothing warehouse with Tesco. I also have had time at home with my family and raising my beautiful baby boy before starting my career as a home care giver. I did work for a different care company before finding visiting angels. 🪽

✨ What is the best part about being a caregiver?

Knowing that you're really making a difference and making someone's day that extra bit easier. however that may be like helping them choose an outfit or assisting them with the telly or the phone cause they've pressed something and got confused with technology! Our role isn't just a standard job, it isn't always about personal care or eating and drinking. It's about creating a bond, having a laughing. Showing up with the biggest smiles and even though when you enter their home they might not be feeling the best, but your attitude and positivity radiates the room. Sometimes, that cheers them up a lot seeing you happy! So your leaving their home knowing they feel so much better because have gone that extra mile for them. In a way knowing you're giving them a reason to always keep going, keep trying and never give up. 🫶🏼

✨ What does being an Angel mean to you?

After both my grandads passing , I realised that caring for and supporting others was something I genuinely enjoyed and wanted to pursue. I now have realised I took time with grandparents for granted growing up, by thinking it would last forever! Unfortunately reality hit me hard and I lost both of them 6 months apart, one being on Christmas day! They both were my whole support system. So after going through that nothing fills me with more pleasure just to know your supporting and caring for other families like you would your own. It is truly one of the most rewarding jobs out there 🥰

Before I joined the angels family I worked in childcare.

The best part of being a caregiver is your making people lives better in the community and you’re making their quality of life better - I take great pride in the support we offer.

Being an angel makes me incredibly happy; to know the people we look after are getting a good quality of life and we are making things fun.

Today, we’re sharing Isabella’s story 💙

What role did you work in before joining Visiting Angels?

Before stepping into my role here, I spent my time working as a nursery practitioner and a hairdressing assistant. Both roles taught me so much about listening, connecting with people, and helping them feel cared for and valued.

What is the best part about being a caregiver?

For me, it’s all about the chance to truly brighten someone's day. Life can feel quiet and lonely at times, so walking into a client's home and seeing their face light up with pure excitement is the most rewarding feeling in the world. Knowing that a simple visit, a warm conversation, or a shared cup of tea can transform someone's whole day makes every moment so special.

What does being an Angel mean to you?

Being an Angel means the absolute world to me. It isn't just a job title; it’s a privilege to be a comforting presence, a trusted companion, and a steady hand for someone who needs it.

I am endlessly proud to wear my Angel wings and bring kindness, warmth, and love to wonderful clients every single day.

Today, we’re sharing Tracy’s story 💙

What it means to be an Angel for me, is always being able to deliver person centered, quality care for all of my clients.

Supporting them and sometimes their families along their loved ones care journey. Every day is different and some come with many challenges, however, being an angel is not just a job, its a calling, an understanding how people should be treated with kindness and respect and the dignity they all deserve.

There are so many best parts.
I love listening to their stories, reminiscing together of times gone by when days were easier for them. Seeing the joy and laughter of their faces as they share little pieces of their lives with you.

And when they show appreciation over the smallest of things you do, which could just be making a meal, helping getting dressed, making a cup of tea or watering the plants!
Appreciation is never needed, just knowing I can make someone's day feel less heavy, less lonely is all I hope for.

Before I became an angel I worked as a personal carer for a young adult with special needs.
After two wonderful years with her, sadly, this role came to an end.

I then found myself caring for my own Mum who was diagnosed with cancer at 83.
6 months after her passing, I decided that I wanted to make a difference in the way care was delivered... I've never looked back.

Today, we’re sharing Tanya’s story 💙

I’ve dipped in and out of the care industry since I was 17, my lovely mum owned a nursing home and working there was one of my first jobs.
I returned to care fully as lockdown began and worked for 3 different companies before becoming an Angel.

The best part of being a caregiver is knowing that you can’t change the world but you can change a few hours a day for your clients. So many of them live alone and receive very few visitors, they look forward to our visits and we always leave them happy, comfortable and safe.

To me, being a caregiver means adjusting your energy and approach to each client so you fulfil their needs, caregiving is definitely not a ‘one size fits all’ job.

Anyone can be trained to be a carer, but not everyone can be trained to care, it’s a passion.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and look after Reggie every Friday for the day.

✨ What role did you work in before joining Visiting Angels?

I was working in a warehouse role or customer service, just to pay the bills each month.

✨ What is the best part about being a caregiver?

It is the most rewarding/meaningful role I have ever had the opportunity to work in alongside my studying.

✨ What does being an Angel mean to you?

Being an Angel means providing the most compassionate and empathetic care each day. Also, knowing I can make people laugh and put a smile on their faces truly makes me happy in this role..

✨ Meet Our Team: Hannah - Care Manger ✨

We asked our team three questions to find out more about the amazing people behind the care we provide. Today, we’re sharing Hannah’s story 💙

✨ What role did you work in before joining Visiting Angels?

I’ve worked in care for over 20 years, and before joining Visiting Angels I was a Registered Manager for another care provider. I’ve always enjoyed working with people and supporting them and making sure they get the care they deserve. In previous roles, that wasn’t always as easy as I would have liked, so I really appreciate being somewhere where I can actually make a difference.

✨ What is the best part about being a part of the Visiting Angels team?

I think the biggest thing for me is that the values here are very similar to my own. I really like that our caregivers are such an important part of what we do and that we can recognise and reward them for the work they do.
I also really like the people.

There’s a good sense of everyone pulling together and looking out for each other. As Care Manager, I feel very lucky to have a team that cares about both the clients and the caregivers. It’s very different from places I’ve worked before, and I genuinely enjoy coming to work, meeting new people and being able to help where I can.

✨ What does being an Angel mean to you?

For me, it’s quite simple really. It’s about treating people how you would want your own family to be treated. Being kind, having a bit of patience, listening and sometimes just doing that little bit extra when someone needs it.
It’s not always about doing something huge. Sometimes it’s just making someone’s day a little bit easier or making them feel that someone genuinely cares.

✨ What role did you work in before joining Visiting Angels?

My job before was bar work but it wasn’t very rewarding and having supported my two younger sisters who are living with disabilities, I wanted to work in a role that’s equally rewarding as my time spent with my siblings

✨ What is the best part about being a caregiver?

I would say the best part about being a caregiver is the pride it brings to me , it makes me feel happy knowing I’ve been able to help someone or even just sit and talk to someone who needs that support

🪽 What does being an Angel mean to you?

Being an Angel means a lot to me because we are relied on and to have that trust is something so special with loved ones , Being an angel is one of the best things I’ve ever done the support is incredible.

Emily’s compassion, kindness, huge personality and genuine desire to make a difference are exactly what being an Angel is all about. We are so proud to have her as part of our team 💙✨
