๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ The best way to stay on track with marathon training is to stay injury-free.

As your training mileage increases, your muscles work harder and fatigue can begin to build. Regular sports massage helps reduce muscle tightness, improve flexibility, and identify areas of tension before they develop into bigger problems.

Train smart, recover well, and give your body the support it deserves with our Marathon Training Sports Massage Package.๐Ÿ’ช

๐Ÿค”Tight muscles aren't always what they seem.

A muscle that feels tight isn't always a muscle that's too short. Sometimes it's already being held in a stretched position and simply doesn't feel safe enough to relax. ๐Ÿ˜–

That's why stretching alone isn't always the answer. Building strength, improving movement, and helping your body feel more stable can often make a much bigger difference. ๐Ÿคฉ

Understanding why your body feels tight is the first step towards helping it move more freely.๐Ÿ’š

If you've been faithfully stretching your hips every evening, holding each stretch for 30 seconds, following YouTube videos and wondering why they still feel tight the next morning, you're certainly not alone. It's one of the most common frustrations I hear from clients.
The surprising truth is that tight muscles are not always short muscles. In fact, many muscles that feel tight are already being held in a stretched position. They simply don't feel safe enough to relax.
That changes the way we approach the problem completely.

When we spend hours sitting at a desk, driving or relaxing on the sofa, our hips adapt to that position. The muscles at the front of the hips spend most of their day shortened, while the muscles around the back of the hips and pelvis often become less active. Over time your body begins to rely on the same movement patterns day after day.

Your brain is incredibly good at keeping you safe. If it senses that your hips are weak, unstable or unfamiliar with certain ranges of movement, it will often create a feeling of tightness as a protective mechanism. That sensation is your nervous system saying, "Let's not go any further just yet."

This is why you can stretch your hip flexors every day and still feel as though nothing has changed. You're addressing the symptom, not the reason behind it.
Think of it like repeatedly pulling on a handbrake without fixing the reason it's engaged. You can pull harder and harder, but the problem remains.
Instead of asking your hips to simply become more flexible, we want to teach them that they can move confidently and support you throughout that movement. Exercises such as glute bridges, split squats, controlled lunges, single leg balance work and slow bodyweight squats all help your nervous system trust your hips again.

๐Ÿ’šThank you so much for your wonderful review. We're so pleased to hear that Chloe was able to look beyond the obvious injury and help with the underlying muscle tension too. Taking a whole-body approach is an important part of helping our clients recover, move better, and feel their best.๐Ÿ˜

๐Ÿ‘€As a personal trainer, I spend a lot of time helping people reconnect with muscles they've forgotten they even had. Often, improving hip strength doesn't just make your hips feel better. It can reduce niggles in the knees, ease tension in the lower back and even make walking feel lighter and more comfortable.

Everyone's movement habits are slightly different, which is why there isn't a one size fits all solution. ๐Ÿƒ

Sometimes a tiny adjustment to technique or choosing a different exercise altogether is enough to make everything click.๐Ÿ’š
