Some of our customers may remember Sue as a wonderful member of our team for many years until she retired. 🥰

Sue first became connected with the centre in 2018, when her youngest son Matthew developed Alzheimer’s. During an incredibly difficult time, the support and opportunities offered by the centre became a vital source of comfort and connection for her. Following Matthew’s passing in 2021, Sue chose to begin volunteering as her way of giving back and supporting other carers facing similar challenges.
Today, Sue is a much-loved volunteer at our Friday Thread and Thrive sessions, where her kindness, creativity and welcoming nature shine through. Known for her wonderful smile, Sue is an incredibly talented knitting and crochet expert, amazingly quick with her needles and always happy to help others learn new skills or enjoy a good chat over crafts.
Sue has embraced many opportunities through the centre, including craft activities, Mindfulness and First Aid courses, and continues to bring warmth, compassion and friendship to everyone she meets. Her support and encouragement make a real difference to both carers and fellow volunteers alike.
Thanks Sue!
