Rest when you’re bleeding. Celebrate yourself when you’re ovulating.

Two things your menstrual cycle is asking of you. Two things we’ve been told we’re not allowed to do.

Ask yourself why?

A little more powerful. A little more loud. A little less palatable. A little more difficult to control.

Maybe that’s exactly why.

Next time you’re bleeding, rest a little more. Next time you’re ovulating, go and celebrate yourself.

Yeah, I had to buy a new phone. Luckily it was only water in the camera. But we’ve all been there, right?

That upwards energy after you’ve bled. Everything feels lighter. You’re moving, you’re creating, you’re riding high. And then all of a sudden you’re plummeting back down towards your bleed and you can’t hold it anymore. You need to put your foot on the brakes.

Here’s what I know though. The plummet isn’t a plummet. It’s a softening.

But to allow that to be a softening rather than a brutal smash, we need to understand every single phase of our menstrual cycle. We need to slow down. We need to listen to every single part of our cycle. That’s where we get the knowledge. That’s where we start to understand our body better.

And when we do that, it allows us to step out into the world in the way that we need to. In the way that our whole body is asking us to.

For twenty years I was told to push through. To endure. To just get on with it.

And I did. Because that’s what I was taught.
Now I know there’s so much more.

My cycle isn’t something happening to me. It’s part of me. And every month it’s showing me something different about who I am, what I need, and how I want to step out into the world.

When I stopped pushing and started listening, everything changed.

Your cycle isn’t asking you to endure it.
It’s asking you to experience it.

And that may sound woo, but honestly it’s a game changer! Follow me to discover that it really means.
