We have been enjoying a few tasty snacks at Halcyon Days Care Home recently! 🍇🍏🍒

Our lovely residents have been asking for more fruit, so the team have been coming up with different ways to make snack time a little more exciting. There is certainly no shortage of colour on the snack table! 🍐🍍

It is lovely when our residents share what they fancy, and we can find fun ways to bring their ideas to life 💜

As summer comes to an end, we’re looking back at some of our August highlights across Gold Care Homes ☀️💜

With plenty of summer sunshine, our homes found ways to enjoy the summer while keeping cool, with ice creams and ice cream van visits proving particularly popular! 🍦

We also put the kettle on for Afternoon Tea Week, enjoyed some well-earned downtime for National Relaxation Day and made the most of the Summer Bank Holiday.

The ice cream trolley has been making its rounds at Halcyon Days Care Home ! 🍦☀️

Our wonderful residents know exactly what time it is when they hear that familiar sound coming down the corridor. There’s something about an ice cream on a sunny afternoon that never gets old, and everyone has been enjoying choosing their favourite treat 😄💜

Wow, what a fabulous day we had at our summer fete last Saturday! It was wonderful to see so many of our lovely family and friends joining us, enjoying the day and spending time together 💜

A huge thank you to Andy Mason for entertaining us with some fantastic music. There was plenty of singing, dancing and fun 🎵🎤🕺

And of course, we can’t forget Louise taking her turn in the stocks and getting well and truly soaked! 💦 We’re not sure who enjoyed that more, Louise or everyone watching!

July saw us celebrating a few of our favourite dates in the calendar, alongside all the everyday moments that make each month special 💜

We marked World Chocolate Day with a few well deserved treats, celebrated National Ice Cream Day with everyone's favourite flavours, and during , we took the opportunity to recognise our wonderful teams who make such a difference every day 🍦🍫

Alongside the celebrations, there were all the little moments that make each month what it is, catching up with friends, enjoying favourite activities and making the most of the summer days.

Independence and choice are at the heart of life at Halcyon Days Care Home 💜

Meet Mo, our wonderful Halcyon Days Helper. Mo has shared that she enjoys keeping busy and has found her independence skills continue to grow by taking part in tasks of her choice, including doing laundry, folding clothes and helping to organise items around our home.

It has been lovely to see Mo doing the things she enjoys, building confidence and making a positive difference in her own way. We are so proud of you, Mo 😊

June brought plenty of reasons to celebrate across our homes, with lots of special moments shared together along the way 💜

We marked Care Home Open Week by welcoming visitors into our homes, celebrated Pride Month with colourful activities and conversations, and enjoyed making Father's Day a memorable one for the wonderful father figures in our community 🌈

There was also time for some light hearted fun as we tucked into National Fish and Chips Day, got creative for National Cheese Day, and found lots of other reasons to smile throughout the month 🧀🐟
