Well, would you believe it? 12,045 days or about 17.3 million minutes ago to this very day at 2pm (well it was actually ten past as I am worth waiting for 😂) we walked down the aisle and got ourselves hitched! 41 years ago we were set up on a date, we waited 8 years to see if we could get rid of each other, that didn't work so we said 'sod it', took the plunge and 33 years later here we are, fighting like John and Mary O'Leary from Father Ted! 😂🤣😂
According to a google search: "The 33rd wedding anniversary does not have a traditional theme, but it is widely celebrated with the modern symbol of amethyst or iron. Amethyst symbolises wisdom, peace and spiritual growth, while iron represents the enduring strength and resilience of a long marriage". Well, we've a ton of amethyst and a shed full of rusty nails so we blame them!
So what's our secret? A bloody good sense of humour that's what! Joking aside, we've been extremely lucky as a 'normal' couple to grow together on our journey rather than growing apart. Perhaps it's because we started out as best friends years before romance eventually blossomed when he grabbed his guitar and sang to me and the rest they say is history!
So pardon our absence today, we'll probably be found crying into our pints, I mean celebrating. Ack, you might have guessed, we do love each other really 😜😍🥰🎉🍻
