In The Flow

In The Flow In The Flow is for those that seek to find flow in movement and life. Being receptive to the rhythms Our true nature is unique, beautiful and free.

In The Flow is founded by Rachel Gosling, yoga teacher, lover of dance, movement and life. Rachel has always been a "mover" but found her full expression through yoga, as she recovered from physical and mental dis-ease. Yoga not only became a therapy to wellness, it also became a re-discovery of her true nature. When we are true to ourselves we fulfil our dharma or life's purpose. We are in alignm

ent. We are in our flow. This is the key message in Rachel's teachings and the purpose of In The Flow. In The Flow is continually changing, evolving and, well..... going with the flow. Rachel has specialised training in Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, Womb Yoga, Pregnancy Yoga, Post-natal Yoga, Yoga for Dancers, Yoga Nidra and the therapeutic teachings of the KYM in Chennai, India. She has benefited from the wisdom and knowledge of many wonderful teachers, for whom she is truly grateful. Rachel often draws on these teachings directly, but more often than not, she is drawn to expressing that which comes up in the moment and the influences of a lived practice of being In The Flow. As she, herself, is faced with the daily challenges of stress, overwhelm and sometimes even physical pain, she is drawn to share the deeply nurturing and nourishing practices that keep one connected within, rather than striving to attain.

“Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.”

This week's classes have been exploring the idea of reset.

Through gentle rocking, shaking, spiralling and circular movements, we've been inviting the body to let go of some of the habits and holding patterns it collects over time.

Not by forcing change, but by creating the conditions for things to soften, shift and settle.

Nature doesn't force. It moves in cycles, spirals and rhythms. Given the right conditions, it naturally finds balance.

Sometimes we spend so much time doing, striving and holding ourselves together that we forget the body already knows the way.

For me, reset isn't about becoming something new.

It's about letting go of what isn't needed and returning to ourselves.

A return to steadiness.

A return to ease.

A return home.

A little glimpse into what I'm creating for Sunday's Summer Day Retreat 🌿

One of the things I love about retreat days is having enough time to really settle into the experience. Rather than arriving, doing a class and heading straight home again, we have a whole day to move, rest, enjoy good food, spend time outdoors and simply step away from the usual pace of life.

The day will include gentle yoga, breath practices, deep rest, time outdoors and a freshly prepared vegetarian lunch.

Sunday 7th June
10am–4pm
Upperthong Village Hall

£75 including lunch

There are currently 3 spaces remaining.

If you'd like to join us, you can book through the link in the comments or send me a message.

I’m supposed to be on holiday this week, but somehow I still found myself caught up in planning, ideas, admin and endless things to do.

Today felt like the first real exhale.

A slower morning. Time in the garden. A long walk through local woods that I’d never explored before. Sunlight through the trees, glorious views, dogs playing in the water, and that feeling of finally beginning to come back to myself again.

It often takes me a long time to properly slow down — and yet, it’s something I need so deeply.

But this evening felt like breathing space 🌿

No classes next week while I take a little holiday 🌿

Wishing you all a restful week too, and hoping you can find some moments to slow down, breathe and recharge.

Classes return from Monday 1st June, with the next 6-week blocks now open for booking — and drop-ins are available too.

Yara seems very happy about the extra lounging time 🐾

I’ve been reflecting on rhythm.

The rhythm of movement.
The rhythm of breath.
The rhythm of energy and rest.
The rhythm of life itself.

I notice my tendency to keep pushing, to force and to try and move through life at full speed… and eventually, my body makes me stop anyway.

For me, that can look like autoimmune responses, aches, illness, and feeling completely exhausted. In the end, my body says no.

And yet, when I let go a little, when I surrender and move with life rather than against it, I see another way.
A steadier rhythm.
A more sustainable way of moving through life.

Interestingly, it’s not about doing less.
When I stop forcing and pushing against myself, life seems to flow with more ease — and actually, I often achieve far more.

In yoga, we return to this again and again through breath, movement and awareness — noticing how we move, how we feel, how energy shifts, and learning when to harness energy and when to rest.

This week’s classes have been exploring rhythm through breath cycles, repetitive movement patterns, energy and rest, the rhythm of a class, the rhythm of nature, and the repeating patterns we move through in life — remembering that we are not separate from the natural world, but a part of it too. 🌿

This week I have been pondering the idea of “connection” — what this means to different people — and exploring some of these ideas in class.

What has occurred to me is how important connection is.

Connection, through our body and senses, helps us to be present in the moment. It helps us to notice how we are and how we feel. And perhaps, at times, it even helps us connect to something deeper within ourselves.

Yoga can help us pause long enough to notice. To feel. To breathe. To listen.

When we practise with others, we also share space, energy and experience. We may begin to understand our relationship to the world, the people around us, and how connected we really are.

This might not be why we start doing yoga. People may first arrive at yoga to ease physical aches and pains, or to improve strength and mobility… but I believe many people stay because of how the practice makes them feel.

Yoga helps connection. And connection supports mental wellbeing.

So during Mental Health Awareness Week — and really every week of the year — finding ways to connect feels deeply important.

For me, yoga is one beautiful and accessible way of doing that 💛

I’m really pleased to be adding a new daytime yoga class at Upperthong Village Hall from June 😊

🧘 Thursdays 1–2pm

These classes focus on strength, mobility and calm, with plenty of options offered throughout, making them suitable for beginners as well as those with more experience.

One student recently shared:
“I love the mix of strength and flexibility in the current class… I also love the challenges which are always optional but fun to try.”

The next 6-week courses are now open to book.
