‼Help Protect North Devon's Maternity Services ‼

There will be a temporary suspension of births at North Devon District Hospital from Tuesday 11th August 2026, due to a critical shortage of consultant obstetricians and gynaecologists in the area.

Patient safety must come first, and this is hugely worrying for expectant families, who may now have to travel to hospitals much further from home.

We must do everything we can to make sure this temporary suspension is not the thin end of the wedge, and ensure the future of local maternity services here in North Devon.

This morning I spoke with the Trust about staffing levels - I am making every call, using every contact and exhausting every avenue to help find a solution, but I need your help:

Good luck to Charlie and Ryan who will take on the JOGLE challenge this August to raise funds for the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund.

They will run in memory of Charlie's dad who passed away from the disease in 2019.
