Biomechanics coaching uses a simple, evidence based, logical screening process that detects compensatory movement patterns and weaknesses in the body’s ‘intrinsic’ movement. The results of the assessment will determine which corrective exercises are prescribed to rebalance the body.

Whether you’re a professional athlete, a keen recreational sports enthusiast or simply working in an office, biomechanical factors can have a major impact on your potential risk of injury.

Biomechanics impacts our movement across all aspects of modern life. Poor movement patterns are often the cause of pain and injury in day to day life as well as restricted skill development and poor performance in the sporting arena.

The positive effects of biomechanics programmes are being reported across many sectors of society, from sedentary office workers through to the elite athletes.

The system:

1. Normalise – to re-establish normal movement

The first phase focuses on correcting dysfunctions in your pelvis, spine and nervous system. A series of screening tests will identify any weaknesses. Exercises are then prescribed to re-align and re-balance your body’s mechanical system.

2. Stabilise – to engage and coordinate muscles

Once your biomechanics are working efficiently, you will be in a position to focus on your core. This phase will address any weaknesses in your core stability. There will be additional exercises to consolidate the work you have put in during the normalise phase.

3. Functionalise – to prepare for functional movements

The final phase will focus on the function of your feet, knees and shoulders. Your individual exercise programme will ensure that you become fit for purpose and that you are in optimum condition to achieve your fitness and well-being.

Better movement starts with understanding your body.

Recover Smarter!

Ultrasound therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses high-frequency sound waves to pe*****te deep into soft tissues. In sports therapy, it's used to help reduce pain, improve circulation, encourage tissue healing, and restore mobility following injury or overuse.

It can be particularly beneficial for conditions such as muscle strains, ligament sprains, tendon injuries, scar tissue, and chronic soft tissue pain.

The gentle thermal and mechanical effects of ultrasound help increase blood flow, reduce muscle tightness, and promote the body's natural healing process, making it an effective addition to a rehabilitation programme.

When combined with hands-on sports massage, stretching, and targeted rehabilitation exercises, ultrasound therapy can:

✅️Reduce pain and inflammation
✅️Speed up soft tissue healing
✅️Improve flexibility and range of motion
✅️Break down scar tissue and adhesions
✅️Support recovery from sports injuries
✅️Help you return to training or everyday activities sooner.

Ultrasound therapy is most effective as part of a tailored treatment plan rather than as a standalone treatment.

At Kinetics @ The Wellness Room, Resolutions Health & Fitness, every session is designed around your individual needs to help you move better, recover faster, and get back to doing what you enjoy.

Biomechanics Coaching and the kinetic chain

The body is a connected system that compromises of joints, muscles and tissues. No one area works in isolation so when an area is not fulfilling its role due to reduced strength, reduced mobility, fatigue and reduced control the other areas adapt to keep you moving. Biomechanics Coaching Programme looks at the body as a whole through a series of screenings and considers areas that can be improved in order for the body to work better as a whole.

If areas of the body not fulfilling their role are not addressed, then over time the demands on the body can lead to an increased risk of injury, inefficient movement patterns and for those with a more sporting background, a reduced performance.

Certain regions have more influence on mobility and strength which is why, more often than not, the problem is not necessarily where the symptoms or restrictions are exhibiting.
Where there is a c***k in the chain...

How does kinetic chain dysfunction contribute to injury?

It can create altered alignment and control, leading to compensatory movements and movement patterns. It can cause muscle dominance and lead to an inefficient use of energy.
Focusing on improving kinetic chain issues will improve mobility, strength, control and movement patterns.

Improving all of these areas using the Biomechanics Programme can reduce the occurrence of injury and strengthen the system as a whole meaning you can stay active for longer.
