Good Morning,

Can I ask a question?

When food noise becomes quieter, what do you do with the space that's left behind?

Many people tell me that GLP-1 medication has changed their relationship with food in ways they never expected.

But while the medication may reduce food noise, it doesn't automatically teach us how to manage emotional eating, cope with difficult feelings, challenge unhelpful thoughts, or build confidence in our ability to maintain change.

As an Accredited CBT Therapist and Health Coach, that's the conversation I'm most interested in.

Not just how people lose weight.

But how they use the opportunity to build skills that support lasting change.

That's why I've created GLP-1 & Beyond – a free Facebook community for people who want to explore the psychological and behavioural side of the journey.

GLP-1 creates the opportunity. CBT helps you make it last.

If this resonates with you, comment GROUP and I'll send you the link.

Thanks for reading
Deirdre

I've been thinking about food rules this week.

Not diets.

Not meal plans.

The rules we carry around in our heads.

Things like:

"Porridge is bad, too many carbs, Broccoli is good."

"I shouldn't eat after a certain time."

"That's a good food."

"That's a bad food."

What's interesting is that even when appetite changes, those rules often stay exactly where they are.

Sometimes we follow them without even noticing.

Sometimes we break them and feel guilty.

And sometimes we realise we've been carrying them around for so long that we've forgotten where they came from.

One of the things I find fascinating is how much of our relationship with food is shaped by beliefs we've picked up over the years.

Not facts.

Not hunger.

Just beliefs.

I'm becoming more interested in helping people get curious about those beliefs rather than automatically accepting them as true.

Because curiosity tends to open doors that judgement keeps closed.

If food noise has become quieter, what is it allowing you to notice about yourself that you couldn't hear before?
