YOU probably couldn't tell me what you had for breakfast three Tuesdays ago.
But stick AC/DC on and you might still know every word.
And chances are, tomorrow morning you'll make your first cuppa without consciously thinking through every step.

Kettle on.
Tea bag in.
Milk.
Sugar?
Maybe not.
You just do it.

That's because not all memories work in the same way.

Research suggests that even when recent memories become harder to access, emotional responses, habits and long-established behaviours can remain meaningful. It's one reason dementia care often uses familiar music, routines and sensory activities to support wellbeing and engagement.

So while someone may not remember what happened earlier that day, they may still respond to a favourite song, a familiar activity or a role that has been part of their life for decades.
It's a reminder that dementia doesn't affect every memory equally.
Sometimes the things we do without thinking are the things that stay with us the longest.

What's that one song you've not heard in years, but somehow still know every single word to?

You know what most people don't think about?
Knowing where everything is.

Making your tea in your favourite mug.
Popping into your own garden.
Having your neighbours nearby.
Sleeping in your own bed.
Following the same routines you've followed for years.
They're the sort of things you barely notice.
Until you imagine not having them.

What makes your house feel like home?
πŸ‘‡

If staying at home is something you're exploring at the moment for a family member who needs more support, we've popped some information in the comments that may be useful.

When the sun's out and it's a little too warm, there's only one answer... πŸŒŠβ˜€οΈ

A trip to the beach.
Paddling in the sea, exploring the shoreline, and making the most of a proper summer day.

Featuring the bowling champion who's already shown our team how competitive things can get, this time trading strikes for sandy feet and a sea breeze.
And we've been reliably informed the sea is surprisingly warm at the moment, so that's your heads up if you're fancying a dip. 🌊

Because life isn't just about routines, it's about doing the things you enjoy, trying new experiences, and making the most of the day.
And that should be something everyone gets the opportunity to do. πŸ–οΈ

Two years already! πŸπŸ’›

We couldn't let the moment pass without giving Tash a proper shout out.

Over the last two years, Tash has become a familiar face to so many people across our communities. Through winter floods, road closures, and all the challenges that come with delivering care in rural Devon, she's continued to show up, support customers, and provide the consistency that means so much to the people we care for.

It's the everyday commitment, reliability and genuine care that often goes unseen, but makes a real difference to people's lives.

Congratulations on your 2-year anniversary, Tash. Thank you for everything you've done so far, and we can't wait to see what the next year brings. 🐝

Help us celebrate Tash in the comments below πŸ‘‡ πŸŽ‰

"Can you grab that bag for me?"

Of course.

One less thing to carry. One less thing to think about.

And suddenly there's a bit more energy for the walk, the conversation and enjoying being out and about.

Funny how it's often the little things that make the biggest difference.

Support isn't always about the big moments people tend to think of.

Sometimes it's simply having someone alongside you to help lighten the load. πŸ’›

If you'd like to find out a little more about the support we offer, we've popped a link in the comments.

You know that feeling when you can't quite put your finger on it?

Mum seems alright.
Dad says he's fine.
But something's changed...

Maybe they're not getting out as much.
Maybe the house feels harder for them to keep on top of.
Maybe you're finding yourself checking in more often because you're worrying when they're on their own.

The signs aren't always obvious.
Sometimes it's just a collection of little things that start adding up.

A bit of support at home can make life easier, safer and more enjoyable, whilst helping someone stay independent in the place they know and love.
And sometimes, that's all it takes to take a weight off everybody's shoulders.

πŸŽ‰ More Than A Uniform Winner: Katie πŸŽ‰

Behind every uniform is a person with their own story.

A mum. A friend. A partner. A baker, gardener, musician, sports fan, adventurer... and a hundred other things besides.
Our More Than A Uniform competition was all about celebrating the people behind the role and giving our team the chance to share a little bit about what matters most to them.

Congratulations to Katie, whose entry reminded us that some of life's proudest moments come from watching others grow:
"Watching my children enjoy what they love the most, watching them grow and flourish into their own little people, knowing I've given them the tools to succeed."

Thank you to everyone who took part and shared a glimpse of who they are beyond the uniform. It was lovely seeing the hobbies, interests, families and moments that make each person uniquely themselves.

Because care isn't delivered by uniforms.
It's delivered by people. πŸ’›

Blink and somehow a whole year has gone by already!

This week, we had the chance to recognise Alfie's first year with Beehive Care and Training Group, presenting a certificate to mark the milestone.

A lot of what keeps a business running happens behind the scenes. It might not always be the most visible part of the job, but it's an important one all the same. From helping keep things organised to supporting the wider team, every contribution plays a part.

Thank you, Alfie, for all your hard work over the last year. We really appreciate everything you've brought to the team, and we're looking forward to seeing what the next year has in store.

Congratulations on your first Beehive anniversary! πŸŽ‰

You can almost hear the words, "Shall we get another ice cream then?" 🍦

A little while ago, we shared that one of our Live-in Care customers had been nominated for a certificate of appreciation by our carers.

Here's the follow-on.

A trip to the seaside. Lunch by the beach. Ice cream in the sunshine. A few selfies. And a chance to celebrate somebody who means a lot to the people around them.
Looking through these snaps, it's hard to work out who enjoyed the day most.
And honestly, that's exactly how it should be.

"Oh I do like to be beside the seaside..." β˜€οΈ
Sunshine. Seaside air. Good company. And an ice cream that's melting faster than you can eat it.
So then... Name YOUR ice cream. πŸ¦πŸ‘‡

YOU know every corner of that garden.

You remember planting that tree when it was barely taller than your knee.
Now it's the one that gives apples every year.
The flowers didn't appear overnight either.
Neither did the memories.

That's why, when people talk about staying at home, it's rarely about the house itself.

It's the garden you've spent years growing.
The routines you've built.
The little pieces of life that have become part of who you are.

Our live-in care service helps people continue living in the place they know best, surrounded by the things that matter most to them.

πŸ’› Because sometimes what looks small to everyone else means everything to you.
