Buses will stop at Lincoln Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) on a new, dedicated route as part of a two-month trial to help improve access to the NHS facility via public transport.

From Monday 1 June 2026, buses will operate every 30 minutes between Lincoln Central Bus Station and Lincoln CDC, via St Marks Street, from 8.45am to 3.15pm, Monday to Friday.

A temporary bus stop will be in place on Poplar Avenue, near to the CDC, meaning pedestrians will only have a short walk through to the building.

The two-month trial will also include use of an electric bus for two weeks during July, which will be the first electric bus to be used on public routes in the city.

Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group Chief Executive, Professor Karen Dunderdale, said: β€œLincoln Community Diagnostic Centre supports up to 60,000 patients each year and we’re doing everything that we can to make it as accessible as possible for everyone.

β€œWhile dedicated, free car parking remains available on site, we recognise that not everyone has the privilege and access to their own vehicles. Discussions relating to public transport links have been taking place since before the facility opened and we’ve also been supported by patient feedback, which has described the challenges of the nearest bus stop being approximately half a mile away for those with limited mobility or who are unwell.

β€œThis two-month trial allows opportunity to explore if this additional bus service would be viable longer-term, while offering a more sustainable and convenient public transport route to our services.”

A CDC provides a broad range of diagnostic services, such as X-rays, blood tests and CT and MRI scans, as part of a patient’s ongoing planned care, away from main acute hospitals. This helps to give easier and quicker access to tests.

The buses on the dedicated β€˜Medilinc’ ML1 service will be operated by PC Coaches of Lincoln.

πŸ’Š Repeat Medication Requests via the NHS App / Online Services πŸ’»πŸ“±

If your repeat medication request is not available to order on the NHS App or online services, please don’t worry 😊 This does not necessarily mean your medication has been stopped or blocked.

In most cases, it simply means:
🩺 Your medication review is due
πŸ§ͺ Some tests are required
πŸ‘©β€βš•οΈ A clinician would like to review how you are getting on with your medication

Please continue to request your medication via:
πŸ“² Anima
πŸ“± NHS App / Online Services
πŸ₯ Or through the reception team

Our team will review this for you as normal. Please note ❗ We cannot accept medication requests over the telephone ☎️

πŸ‘¨β€βš•οΈ A GP or ANP can usually authorise one month’s supply of medication to allow time for you to book and attend the required follow-up appointment before your next monthly request.

βœ… These reviews help us make sure your medication remains safe and effective for you.

πŸ’‘ If your medication was originally issued as a one-off acute prescription and is not listed on your repeat medications, further requests for this medication will need to be submitted monthly unless it is placed on repeat by the clinician.

πŸ“’ Patient Notice – Anima Requests

We have recently seen an increase in patients calling the surgery to ask our reception team to complete Anima requests on their behalf, as it is thought this may be quicker.

Unfortunately, this is increasing telephone wait times for vulnerable patients who are unable to access the internet or mobile devices and rely on the phone system for support.

Our reception team have therefore been advised to ask patients to submit their own Anima request via the website wherever possible, unless there is a reason they are unable to do so.

Please be reassured that all requests β€” whether submitted by telephone or via Anima β€” are triaged by a clinician in exactly the same way.

You can submit an Anima request here:
Anima Online Requests

Thank you for your understanding and support.

πŸ’Š Medication Reviews – Important Information πŸ’Š

For the safety of our patients, all repeat medications are reviewed regularly by one of our clinicians or pharmacists πŸ‘©β€βš•οΈπŸ‘¨β€βš•οΈ Reviews are usually carried out annually, or more frequently depending on the medication prescribed.

Following recent changes to our Long Term Condition review process, we now aim to complete medication reviews during your birth month πŸŽ‚ to help streamline your care.

βœ… Medication reviews help ensure your medicines remain:
β€’ Safe
β€’ Effective
β€’ Appropriate for you

You may also be invited for a Long Term Condition Review, which could include:
🩺 Blood pressure checks
🩸 Blood tests
πŸ§ͺ Urine samples
βš–οΈ Height and weight checks

It is important that you attend when invited, as we may be unable to safely reissue prescriptions without the appropriate monitoring and safety checks, which may cause delays.

πŸ“± Invitations will be sent during your birth month via SMS, email, or telephone call.

⚠️ Please note: repeated non-attendance or non-response may result in prescriptions being issued weekly for patient safety reasons.

πŸ“’βœ¨ Long Term Condition Reviews βœ¨πŸ“’

From April 2026, we introduced a new recall system for patients with long term conditions.

Patients are now invited for their annual review during their πŸŽ‚ birth month each year.

This change helps us:
βœ… Manage appointments more effectively
πŸ’™ Provide more personalised care
πŸ—“οΈ Plan reviews more efficiently

Where possible, invitations are being sent via πŸ“± SMS and πŸ“§ email, including a booking link, making it convenient for patients to book directly into an appointment.

If you would like to sign up for SMS and email communications, please attend reception to complete a consent form.

During the first year of this change, some patients may receive their review invitation slightly ⏰ sooner or later than usual while we transition to the new system.

If you are invited more than a year after your last review and have any concerns about your condition in the meantime, please πŸ“ž contact the Practice β€” we are happy to help.

πŸ™ Thank you for your understanding and support as we continue to improve your care.
