💗🎀 An Amazing £588 Raised 🎀💗

What an incredible afternoon we had at Emerson Court for our Breast Cancer Awareness Afternoon Tea – and we are absolutely delighted to announce that together we raised an amazing £588! 👏💕

Our residents, families, friends, staff and members of the local community came together for an afternoon filled with delicious cakes, refreshments, games, laughter and, most importantly, lots of wonderful community spirit.

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along, donated, helped organise the event or supported us in any way. Every contribution helped us reach this fantastic total and we are incredibly grateful for your generosity. ❤️

Events like this are about so much more than fundraising. They bring our residents together with their families, friends and the wider community, creating special moments and memories while supporting a cause that touches the lives of so many people.

🎤🎶 Party Time! 💃🕺

The wonderful josh antony music came along to entertain our residents and the atmosphere was electric!

It didn’t take long before everyone was getting involved – singing along to favourite songs, dancing, clapping and enjoying the brilliant atmosphere. There were certainly plenty of smiles around the room! ❤️

Live music is always a firm favourite at Emerson Court, and it offers so many benefits for our residents. Familiar songs can evoke treasured memories, lift mood and encourage conversation, while singing and dancing provide opportunities for movement, self-expression and social connection.

But sometimes the biggest benefit is simply the joy of having fun together. Seeing our residents on their feet, singing along and sharing the experience with friends is what these afternoons are all about.

A huge thank you to Josh for bringing so much energy, music and happiness to Emerson Court – we had an absolute ball! 🎶👏

🍪🍦 Ice Lollies and Chocolate Cookies!

We’ve been busy in the kitchen at Emerson Court, with our residents enjoying not one, but two delicious activities – making their own refreshing ice lollies and baking some chocolate cookies! 😋

Food-based activities are always popular with our residents, but they’re about so much more than the tasty results. Baking and preparing food together can encourage creativity, concentration and fine motor skills, while familiar tastes, smells and recipes can evoke wonderful memories.

And with this hot summer weather, homemade ice lollies are a particularly refreshing treat – a fun and enjoyable way to encourage residents to keep their fluid intake topped up too! ☀️🍦

The chocolate cookies didn’t last long either… we can’t imagine why! 🍪😂

🎶🥁 Making Music, Making Memories

There was plenty of rhythm and smiling faces at Emerson Court as our residents enjoyed getting hands-on with a variety of musical instruments.

Music has an incredible way of bringing people together. Whether it’s tapping along to a familiar tune, trying out a new instrument or simply enjoying the sounds around them, musical activities can help lift mood, encourage self-expression and promote social interaction.

For many of our residents, music also unlocks treasured memories, sparking conversations and moments of reminiscence that are truly special. Playing instruments can also help support coordination, concentration and confidence, making it a wonderful activity for both the mind and body.

It was fantastic to see everyone joining in and embracing the fun! At Emerson Court, we believe it’s these shared experiences that make every day meaningful and help our residents continue to live life to the fullest. 💚🎵

Bingo! 🔢🎉

Bingo is a favourite here at Emerson Court Care Home!

We all love the excitement of waiting for the next number to be called and it is also a fantastic activity for supporting wellbeing. It encourages concentration, memory and number recognition, while giving residents the opportunity to socialise, cheer each other on and celebrate each other’s successes.

Thank you to everyone who joined in the fun. We can’t wait for the next game 👏💛

🥧👩‍🍳 Freshly Baked Jam Tarts

The home was filled with the delicious aroma of freshly baked tarts last week as our residents enjoyed another wonderful baking session at Emerson Court.

Baking is a great activity for residents - it’s a meaningful activity that encourages creativity, supports fine motor skills and helps keep the mind active. Measuring ingredients, mixing and decorating, all provide opportunities to stay focused, agile with hands and create a sense of achievement. 😋💛
