I just read something that made me feel quite sad….
Every child begins as a radiant expression of the soul. It’s curious, creative, and fee to create and express as it truly desires. This is our original state. We are born whole…
Then slowly, the world begins to tell us who we should be. We learn what is acceptable, what earns approval and want must be hidden to stay safe…
The first thing that popped into my thoughts was masking, all those chameleon people who have to be everything to everyone, to get it right because that keeps us safe.
RSD then pops in and says well of course I’m on hyper alert causing the nervous system to be super activated for threats that let’s face it might make us feel we are being chased by a pack of hungry lions…
And I also thought about little me, trying so hard to work out the world and what was expected of me, but also the freeness of social expectations, having my imaginary foxy friend who lived in our car glovebox and who enabled me to tell my Daddy off and possibly make car journeys quite tricky. But most of all having these huge emotions that it felt no one could handle - least of all me!
Wouldn’t it be amazing if we were just allowed to let that curiosity and creativity blossom instead of forgetting who we truly are ❤️
