Your joints rely on movement to stay healthy because cartilage doesnโt have its own blood supply. Instead, movement helps deliver nutrients and remove waste products, this is why regular mobility work is so important.
The exercises featured in our latest blog post help to improve movement quality, reduce stiffness and help your body to perform at its best- whether youโre training hard, return from injury, or simply looking to move more comfortably throughout the day.
1๏ธโฃ Hip flexor stretch- Start in a half kneeling position with one knee on the floor. Gently shift your weight forward while keeping your torso upright, until you feel a stretch at the front of your hip.
2๏ธโฃ Thoracic spine rotation- Start in half kneeling position with the foot nearest the wall flat on the floor. Place both hands against the wall and slowly rotate your body to bring your hands apart.
3๏ธโฃ Shoulder circles- Sit tall with your shoulders relaxed and your hands resting on your lap. Slowly move your shoulders through full circular motions. Complete several repetitions forwards before completing in reverse.
4๏ธโฃ Ankle mobility rocking- Start in a half kneeling position with one foot flat on the floor. Keeping your heel down, gently drive your knee forward over your toes and then rock back.
