What an amazing day we’ve had making memories, building confidence, caring for our ponies, enjoying lots of fun activities, delicious food, and plenty of snacks! 🌿🍎🥪

Seeing the children’s smiles, laughter, and confidence grow each day is exactly why we love what we do. Every session is filled with friendship, learning, and unforgettable experiences.

There’s something special about starting a new week at the yard. The horses are ready, the ponies are waiting for cuddles, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone for another week full of smiles, confidence building, learning and making memories. 💚

Whether you’re joining us for Fun & Food, a riding lesson, equine therapy, or simply spending time with our amazing horses, we look forward to seeing you.

Today, the horse world sadly lost a true legend. 💙🐴

I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Monty Roberts.

Growing up, he was one of my biggest inspirations. His belief that horses should be understood rather than dominated transformed the way so many people viewed horsemanship. His philosophy of trust, patience, kindness and communication has inspired generations of horse owners, trainers and enthusiasts around the world.

At Shelly Equine Assisted Therapy CIC, those same values are at the heart of everything we do. We believe every horse deserves to be listened to, understood and treated with respect, and that the strongest partnerships are built on trust rather than fear.

Thank you, Monty Roberts, for everything you gave to the horse world. Your legacy will continue to inspire horse lovers for generations to come.

Rest in peace, Monty Roberts. You will never be forgotten. ❤️🐴

We’ve had a few SEND Fun & Food spaces become available due to a cancellation!

📅 Wednesday 12th August
🕐 1:00pm – 4:30pm

Children will enjoy:
🐴 Pony riding
🐎 Grooming and caring for the ponies
🎨 Fun activities and crafts
🍎 Healthy food and snacks
🌿 Outdoor games and confidence-building activities in a safe, supportive environment.

If your child is eligible and you’d like to book one of these spaces, please book through the Durham County Council Fun & Food booking system as they won’t stay available for long.

What another fantastic week it’s been! We’ve packed every day with horse riding, pony care, games, crafts, learning, confidence building, new friendships, healthy food, and lots of smiles.

A huge thank you to all of our amazing children for bringing so much enthusiasm and to our brilliant team for all of their hard work behind the scenes. We couldn’t do it without you.

We’re so proud of everything everyone has achieved this week and can’t wait to welcome our next group for even more fun, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

We’re incredibly grateful for how busy Shelly Equine Assisted Therapy CIC has become! Thank you all so much for your continued support. 🥰

To help us manage bookings as efficiently as possible, the best way to book lessons, therapy sessions and activities is through our online booking system.

As we’re often teaching, running therapy sessions, caring for the horses or out on visits, I don’t always get chance to reply to messages straight away, and sometimes messages can be missed.
