Kinda chic… watching women back themselves and build something of their own 🤍

Some of the women in these photos came to me right at the beginning of their journey. Some already had amazing skills and successful businesses but wanted to upskill, learn something new and keep evolving. Some wanted to completely change direction. And some simply needed that little push to believe they could do it.

And that’s the thing — there’s no right place to be when you invest in yourself.

You might be just starting out, you might be years into your business, or you might just be ready for something new.

You don’t have to have everything figured out.

Book the course. Learn the skill. Add the treatment. Take the client. Post the picture. Keep building your confidence as you go.

I’ve watched so many women walk into training questioning themselves and leave excited, motivated and proud of what they can do — and that will always be one of my favourite parts of teaching 🥹🤍

And THIS is exactly why I’m so passionate about teaching technique, not just treatments.

Understanding the lymphatic system, knowing how to work with the face and mastering your hands can completely elevate the results you’re able to create for your clients.

Another Academy Edit graduate 🤍🤎

There’s something so special about watching someone come in ready to learn, build their confidence throughout the day and leave with a whole new skill set to take into their business.

So proud of another amazing student passing her training with The Academy Edit ✨

And one of my favourite things about growing this little academy? So many of the people walking through the door now have come through recommendations from previous students, clients and models. That will never not mean the world to me.

Feeling very grateful for the little community we’re building at The Academy Edit 🤍🤎

So many of the lovely people who come through our doors find us through word of mouth, recommendations or someone simply saying, “you need to go to The Academy Edit” 🥹 and that genuinely makes my heart so happy.

I’m so proud of the people The Academy Edit is attracting — from our amazing students, past and present, to the clients and models who trust us and support our training days. 🤍

Half a year. 🤍

Last night I found myself doing what so many business owners do… comparing my journey to everyone else’s.

Then today I gave myself a little reality check.

The Academy Edit is only six months old.

Yes, I’ve been in the beauty industry for almost 19 years and teaching for 12, but this… this is different.

This is my academy.
My vision.
My reputation.
My name above the door.

I put so much pressure on myself because I’m a perfectionist.

Prime example? It took me 45 minutes to make this reel because I kept changing my mind. 😂

I’m constantly thinking about what I could do better, what I haven’t achieved yet, or where I should be by now.

Then I looked back through my camera roll.

I’d actually forgotten so many of these moments because when I’m teaching, I’m completely in the zone. My focus is on my students, the models, the treatments and making sure every single person leaves feeling confident.

Watching these memories back made me realise just how much we’ve achieved in such a short space of time.

People see the highlights, but they don’t always see what’s behind them.

Progress is hard fu***ng graft.

I’m still working full-time while building The Academy Edit in the evenings, on weekends, on annual leave and in every spare minute I have.

But every late night, every mile driven, every lesson planned and every early morning has been worth it.

To every single person who has trusted me enough to train with me, travelled across the country, modelled for treatments, shared my content, recommended me, supported me or simply believed in what I’m building…

The first six months have been incredible.

Here’s to the next six months. I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us, and if you’re here following along, thank you for helping me build this dream. 🥺✨
