Folding Blankets 🧺💕

Our residents enjoyed folding blankets together, giving them a sense of purpose and achievement. For some, it brought back lovely memories of doing similar tasks in their own homes. It was a simple but meaningful activity that encouraged conversation, reminiscence and a feeling of being involved and helping out. 💕

🌺 VJ Day Remembrance Craft 🌺

Today, we worked together as a team to create a special VJ Day poster. Our residents enjoyed making poppy crafts and adding them to the poster, creating a beautiful tribute to mark the occasion. ❤️

Everyone had a part to play. Even residents who didn’t take part in the craft still percolated by sharing their ideas about what to write, where to place things and how we could bring the poster together. It was lovely to see everyone contributing their thoughts, using own initiative and creativity

🦉 Today we celebrated National Owl Day with a fun owl-themed quiz, where our residents learnt interesting true facts and shared lots of laughs and guessed if true or false. We created a colourful owl facts poster, with some residents colouring owl pictures to decorate it, while others enjoyed completing an owl word search and learning new owl-related words. A wonderful afternoon of learning, creativity and fun! The true questions we found out from quiz was wrote down on the poster 😊🤎 🦉

We had a lovely time creating our summer shell sensory jars. 🐚🫙

Our residents thoroughly enjoyed this engaging sensory activity, decorating their jars with paint, glitter, shells, colourful tape, plastic jewels 💎, water and gold glitter to create a beautiful sandy effect.
This activity was not only creative and fun, but also a wonderful reminiscence activity, encouraging our residents to share memories, stimulate their senses and express themselves through art. ☀️

Yesterday we had so much fun decorating our new gardening room with colourful flower and garden-themed stickers! 🌸🌼🪴

Our lovely residents enjoyed choosing where the stickers should go, with some placing them on themselves and others helping to decide the perfect spots. It was fantastic to see everyone getting involved, sharing ideas, and plenty of smiles along the way.

Everyone is so excited to see the finished gardening room, and they were so happy to be part of making it look bright, colourful, and welcoming. We can’t wait to share the finished result with you all! 💚🌺

We had a lovely time completing a paint-by-numbers activity and had lots of fun working together as a team. As some of the numbers were difficult to see clearly, we used our own initiative and creativity to choose some of the colours ourselves. Three ladies and two gentlemen worked collaboratively, showing great teamwork throughout. Together, we painted a beautiful flower pot with flowers, which will be displayed in our new gardening room.

Today was Elizabeth’s birthday. She chose to celebrate by watching a film and was delighted with the birthday decorations, which helped make her day feel special. She is also having a Victoria sponge cake 🎂 🎈 🥳

Our residents loved doing some chair excercises and chair sport ls such as beam bag cone toss, beam bag arm exercise and grip, bowling, catch, ball and cone game. Thank you to Grassroots Sports Academy Yorkshire that put in time and effort to come to our home to do these sessions weekly our residents appreciate you and was honoured😊 ⚽️
