💙 Supporting Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice Colour Run 💙
Today, Kate, Julia and Chelsea are proudly supporting the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice Colour Run in Huddersfield.
They are out marshalling and supporting runners, helping to create a fantastic atmosphere and ensuring the event runs smoothly for everyone taking part.
It’s a brilliant event in support of such an important local charity, raising vital awareness and funds for the incredible work the hospice does for children and their families.
We are incredibly proud to be part of a community that comes together to support such a meaningful cause 💙

Absolutely devastating news as Northumbria Police announce the on duty death of PC Jess Turnbull.

She was 19.

Thoughts are with her family, friends and colleagues at this time.

Jess joined the Force in September last year and worked on the response policing team in Northumberland.

Jess was injured while responding to a collision which occurred on the A189 Spine Road in Cramlington at about 11.10pm on Monday.

While at the scene, she was outside of a marked police vehicle when she was struck by a black Mercedes CLC which was unconnected to the original incident.

Jess was taken to hospital where yesterday, surrounded by her loved ones, she sadly died.

We’re excited and proud to announce Jodie Whittaker as a charity ambassador

Born and raised in Skelmanthorpe, Jodie made history as the first female Doctor in Doctor Who and is currently starring in the new BBC series Dear England. Her local roots and commitment to making a difference make her a perfect ambassador for Forget Me Not. We’re incredibly grateful for her support in helping us raise awareness of the vital care and support we provide to children with life‑shortening conditions and their families.

Jodie said: "I'm so proud to have become a charity ambassador for Forget Me Not Children's Hospice. They do incredible work supporting children and families in the area. As someone who was brought up in Huddersfield, where the hospice is based, I couldn't be more honoured to join the team and support such a special and invaluable place!"

We’re honoured that one of Huddersfield’s own is helping to champion our work and we look forward to working with her!

Half term can be an expensive time for families, so we wanted to share some helpful offers where children can eat for FREE or for just £1 during the school holidays 🍽️💜

Please see below for some great local and national deals to help make the week a little easier for parents and carers.

💛 Dying Matters Week 2026 💛
Dying Matters Week encourages us all to speak more openly about dying, death and grief - conversations that can be difficult, but are incredibly important. By talking, listening and sharing, we can help reduce fear and ensure people’s wishes are understood and respected.
At Highfield Funeral Service, we’re proud to support Dying Matters Week and stand alongside organisations like Hospice UK, who champion compassionate end of life care and support for people and families across the UK.
