We have developed a reputation for diverse, inventive responses to the changing outlook of mental health service delivery.

We are an independent mental health and wellbeing charity, offering a wide range of FREE opportunities for people to get creative, learn new skills, improve their wellbeing and discover the great outdoors. S2R Create Space is a local mental health and well-being charity providing a range of creative, outdoors and well-being sessions and events for the people in Kirklees for over twenty years. S2R

Create Space recognizes personal individuality, choice and abilities, by introducing different engaging elements and themes of involvement, individuals are in control of their participation, and can plan and set their own goals and outcomes.

Event Assistant Volunteer Opportunity for Mirfield Friday Friendship Group 💜

We're looking for a friendly and reliable volunteer to join our Mirfield Friday Friendship Over 50s Group. You'll help create a welcoming space where people can connect, enjoy activities and have a great Friday afternoon together.

You will be needed every Friday from 12.45-4pm at Zion Baptist Church, Mirfield WF14 9SB.

Duties will include helping with refreshments, set up, activities and engaging with participants. Please note that this role will involve lifting and moving of tables and chairs.

Social Creatives✨

Our fantastic social group for 17-24 year olds is back this Thursday (18th June) from 1-3pm at our Huddersfield town centre building. Come along for a safe space to socialise and take part in a creative or nature-based activity. It's a great chance to try something new for free, care for your mental health and meet new people.

Over the last couple of weeks we have been working on collaborative natural weaves for Holmfirth Arts Festival

We went on some gentle walks to the river to find inspiration, be mindful and forage for natural materials.

Building Community at Peace Pit 🌱

Join us on Monday 15th June from 12-2pm as we celebrate the launch of the new shelter at the Peace Pit Polytunnels, Old Fieldhouse Lane, Deighton HD2 1AG.

Come and join us this Saturday (13th June) from 11am - 2.30pm at our Create Space building in Huddersfield town centre. Bring your broken or faulty items along to our friendly fixing volunteers who will show you that not everything that’s broken needs binning. Our fixers will tackle almost anything but no microwave ovens or big TVs please.

Art in the Park 🌷

Come and join us and The Friends Of Greenhead Park this Friday (12th June) from 10am - 12noon for some simple and relaxing sketching in the park. Lose yourself in the moment, be inspired by the great outdoors and take a closer look at nature.

Join us tomorrow (Tuesday 9th June) from 11am-3pm near the tennis courts at Greenhead Park, Trinity Street, Huddersfield HD1 4DT and enjoy a relaxed afternoon packed with nature-based activities, workshops, stalls, refreshments and opportunities to connect with others in the community.

Everyone is welcome and there is no need to book, simply turn up on the day!

This event is run alongside The Working Together Better Partnership which is made up of seven Community Adult Mental Health service providers from the voluntary sector in Kirklees.

Marshian Arts Trail 2026 🎨

From 6th-21st June, Marsh will be transformed into a community art gallery, with work from over 40 artists displayed in local businesses, community spaces and venues across the area.

Alongside the trail, there's a packed programme of free events, exhibitions, walks, workshops and open studios for people to enjoy throughout the fortnight.

We're pleased that our Art in the Park session on Friday 12th June has been included in the programme. It's a fantastic celebration of local creativity and community spirit, and a great opportunity to get involved in something different.

We have included the trail map and programme in this post, with physical copies also available at several locations around Marsh.
