Take a look at what The Sustainable Living Research Centre at The University of Huddersfield has achieved while working with our participants at the Peace Pit Lane Polytunnel Project.
They brought in partners Actiform, who specialise in modular buildings, and together they listened to the needs of our group through a series of workshops before challenging Actiform to build a shelter using waste materials from their business.
We think you'll agree they've done a fantastic job! Not only that, but this pilot model has been designed so it can be rolled out to other community garden groups in the future.
This new building will become a great home for the Kirklees Community Growing Group, a new community group that has grown out of our Monday sessions.
To celebrate, there will be a community launch event at the Peace Pit Lane Polytunnels on Monday 15th June from 12-2pm. Come along to see the new shelter, meet the project partners, enjoy live music, take part in activities and find out how you can get involved with the growing group.
