📢 Important information about your prescription nominations
Recently, we’ve become aware that some patients in our local area have had their electronic prescriptions directed to a different pharmacy than the one they usually use — without them knowingly giving clear consent for this change.
Under NHS rules, your choice of pharmacy for electronic prescriptions (your “nomination”) should only be changed with your explicit agreement. You have the right to choose which pharmacy dispenses your medicines, and that choice must be respected.
⚠️ Please take a moment to check:
Which pharmacy are your prescriptions currently being sent to?
If they have started going to a different pharmacy and you did NOT clearly agree to this:
✅ Contact your GP surgery — ask them to confirm your nominated pharmacy
✅ Contact the pharmacy receiving your prescriptions — ask how and when your nomination was changed
✅ If you’re not satisfied — make an official complaint to that pharmacy and, if needed, to NHS England
ℹ️ A note on what you may be told
Some patients report being told unexpected changes were made by their GP surgery. From our long-standing work with local surgeries, we know they take patient consent seriously — any change should be made properly, transparently, and with YOUR agreement.
✅ You are fully entitled to:
🔹 Ask for your nomination to be changed back to your preferred pharmacy
🔹 Raise a formal complaint about any nomination made without your clear consent
We’re sharing this to protect patient choice and ensure all nomination changes are made lawfully, with your knowledge and agreement.
