🎈 What a fantastic visit at Hungerford Care Home! 🎈

We loved welcoming the Newbury RC Balloon Team , who brought along one of their incredible model hot air balloons for our residents to enjoy up close.

There were plenty of smiles, curiosity and excitement as everyone learnt more about the balloon and shared such a unique experience together ❤️

A huge thank you to David, Jonathan, Sue and the team for your time, kindness and for creating such a memorable moment for our residents. You truly brought a little bit of balloon magic to our home 🎈✨

It’s been a busy week at Hungerford Care Home , with plenty of reasons to get moving! 😊

Our wonderful residents enjoyed some gentle armchair exercises, followed by a lively game of balloon tennis. There were some impressive rallies, plenty of encouragement and a bit of friendly competition along the way 🎈🎾

It’s always lovely seeing everyone having a go and cheering each other on. Well done to everyone who joined in! 💜

Friday means one thing at Hungerford Care Home ... Bingo! 🎱

Last week our residents got together for their weekly Bingo Club, listening carefully for their numbers and keeping an eye on the prizes. There was plenty of friendly competition, cheering each other on and, of course, a few very happy shouts of “Bingo!” 🏆

It is always lovely to see how much everyone enjoys this weekly get together. Well done to all our winners this week, and good luck to everyone for next Friday! 💜

There was plenty of fun at Hungerford Care Home this morning! 🎉💜

Our wonderful residents got stuck into a fun Pom Pom exercise session, with plenty of shaking, singing and moving along to the music. Everyone joined in at their own pace, and there was certainly no shortage of laughter along the way!

It was such a fun session, and we’re already looking forward to doing it all again 😊

John, Barrie, Elizabeth and Anthony enjoyed a lovely day out at Beale Park, and there was plenty to see along the way 🦓🐐💜

The group enjoyed spotting all sorts of animals, from zebras and goats to meerkats, monkeys and pigs. After exploring, we found a shady spot for a picnic, with plenty of time for a chat and a rest in the sunshine 🥪🍓

And of course, we couldn’t pass up the chance for an ice cream! 🍦 It was a lovely day of fresh air, good company and a few tasty treats, and we’re already looking forward to our next outing 😊

We marked National Beer Day with a little tasting session here at Hungerford Care Home and it went down a treat 🍻

Going room to room with a selection to try, our residents enjoyed sampling a few familiar favourites alongside something a bit different. There were plenty of opinions shared along the way, and even a bit of friendly debate over which one came out on top 💜

It turned into a lovely, easy going afternoon full of chats, memories, and a few laughs together. Definitely one to do again 😊

There was a lovely smell coming from our kitchen yesterday at Hungerford Care Home as we celebrated National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day 🍪💜

Our wonderful residents got stuck into mixing the batter, spooning it onto the baking trays and keeping a close eye on them as they baked. The reward was even better, warm, chocolatey cookies fresh from the oven that everyone was keen to tuck into 😋

Sometimes the simplest activities are the ones everyone enjoys most, especially when there's something delicious waiting at the end 🤎

July saw us celebrating a few of our favourite dates in the calendar, alongside all the everyday moments that make each month special 💜

We marked World Chocolate Day with a few well deserved treats, celebrated National Ice Cream Day with everyone's favourite flavours, and during , we took the opportunity to recognise our wonderful teams who make such a difference every day 🍦🍫

Alongside the celebrations, there were all the little moments that make each month what it is, catching up with friends, enjoying favourite activities and making the most of the summer days.

A little friendly competition brought plenty of laughs to Hungerford Care Home this afternoon as our wondeful residents enjoyed a game of Just Bowl 🎳

Barrie was on hand with some expert coaching for Liz, but she soon turned the tables and beat him on points! Nigel was our overall champion and was delighted to lift the gold cup, while Sue accepted the wooden spoon with a smile and showed fantastic determination from start to finish🏆

It was wonderful to see everyone cheering each other on and celebrating every great shot. We are already looking forward to the next match 💜

A very special day for Les at Hungerford Care Home 💜

Les finally got to enjoy a trip to Farol Agricultural, something he has been asking to do for a long time. As a lifelong John Deere enthusiast who has even travelled to the John Deere factory in the USA, this was a visit he had been looking forward to for quite some time. Thanks to our wonderful receptionist, his wish finally became a reality.

Les was delighted to pick up some new brochures, including one featuring the latest £1 million tractor, and couldn't wait to take them back to enjoy. We may not have any photos from the visit, but seeing Les so happy after such a long awaited trip made today one to remember 💜
