✈️ We Love Aeroplanes! ✈️

Today’s outing was extra special.

One of our lovely residents wasn’t feeling like venturing out in the rain. But as soon as we told him what we were going to see, he jumped out of his seat, grabbed his stick, and said, “I used to fly aeroplanes — let’s go!”

At The Chase, our activities are carefully planned around the residents, their interests, memories, and passions. Seeing someone reconnect with something they love and light up with excitement makes all the planning worthwhile.

That’s what makes it so much fun! ❤️

This year, all six of our Connaught Care Collection homes are coming together to celebrate Care Home Open Week with a fantastic World Cup themed programme of events, and everyone in our local communities are invited to join us, including you!

Care Home Open Week is a wonderful opportunity to open our doors, showcase life within our homes, and bring together residents, families, neighbours, local businesses, healthcare professionals and community groups for a week of connection, fun and celebration.

Across our homes, you'll find a variety of football-inspired activities, entertainment, refreshments, community gatherings and opportunities to meet our amazing residents and teams.

🌿 Mindful May at The Chase Care Home 🌿
Throughout May, our residents embraced Mindful May by taking part in a variety of activities that supported both mind and body. From enjoying relaxing walks in the fresh air to participating in gentle exercise sessions and moments of relaxation, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
These activities not only help to keep us active and healthy but also promote wellbeing, reduce stress, and encourage positive mental health. It has been wonderful to see our residents engaging, socialising, and making the most of the benefits that mindfulness and movement can bring.
A big thank you to everyone who joined in and helped make Mindful May such a positive and enjoyable month! 💚

We had the most beautiful afternoon listening to the Hemmingford Grey Choir, accompanied by Chase on the piano. 🎶✨
Our residents absolutely loved it, and it was incredibly emotional to see so many of them singing along to the songs.
What made the afternoon even more special was seeing our lovely Paula, the founder of the choir, relive so many wonderful memories. Watching her sing along to the songs she once performed with the choir was a truly heartwarming and unforgettable moment.
What a fantastic group of ladies! Thank you for bringing so much joy to our home. We can't wait to welcome you back again soon. ❤️

We were absolutely delighted to support the Captains’ Charity Day and sponsor a hole in aid of The Royal Papworth Charity.
The Royal Papworth Charity plays a vital role in supporting the incredible work of Royal Papworth Hospital, helping to fund innovative treatments, research, and care for patients with heart and lung conditions.
We are thrilled to hear that an amazing £1,938.72 was raised on the day. What a fantastic achievement and a testament to the generosity and support of everyone involved.
Congratulations to all the organisers, participants, sponsors, and volunteers who helped make the event such a success. We are proud to have played a small part in supporting such a worthwhile cause.

Celebrating Our First Connaught Kids Club last week⭐️

At The Chase Care Home, we firmly believe that meaningful connections across generations bring enormous benefits to everyone involved. This half term, we were delighted to celebrate our very first kids Club, bringing together our residents, families, and children for a wonderful series of activities and shared experiences.

From laughter-filled gardening to baking and a mini disco it has been a joy to watch friendships blossom between young and old. These intergenerational moments help create a sense of belonging, build confidence, reduce isolation, and provide opportunities for learning and understanding across generations.
We are incredibly proud of the relationships we continue to nurture with our families and the wider community. Seeing children and residents spend quality time together reminds us how valuable these connections are and how much happiness they bring to everyone involved.
A huge thank you to all the families and children who joined us and helped make our first kids Club such a success. We are already looking forward to the next one!
