MEET MY MEMBER !!
Meet Jim one of my AMAZING members that attends group in Huntly! Having lost a life changing 6 stone & still on his journey,
If you think is for woman. Think again!
Jim will share his story in his own words 💕
I Started my SW journey 2 yrs ago with my daughter Lynsey.
It was a bit of a thought starting in another town with new people and walking into something that can be predominantly women oriented.
I shouldn’t have worried as our Consultant Sandra and social Team made us very welcome. The members welcomed us with open arms.
At first the weight came off quickly losing half stone in 1st week.
2 stone in next couple months then weight loss seemed to slow down. Since then continued to chip away and some really good weeks and some bad and even couple terrible!
The thing about SW is we are never judged, what happens one week is over then you move on and start a new week.
5.30 Mon meeting is now something I look forward too with everyone who I now consider as friends as we are all in this together. We have a laugh/ great craik and me being the loudest person I usually always have plenty to say.
Without the meetings and the support of members and my wife Gill at home to provide the right diet I couldn’t do this on my own.
Love to hear all of our stories and I try to support anyone having a struggle for whatever reason. Staying for the meetings is great inspiration for us all listening always helps.
2 yrs later and received SW awards spurs me on to keep going.
Never set huge targets/ half stone at a time.
Certificates give boost to move onto another loss and who doesn’t love a shiny sticker!
Last week fortunate to reach 6 stone award, had a bad week following all self inflicted but back on it again.
Everyone has good and bad weeks, no one ever said it be easy.
We are all there for same reason.
Monday night meeting is me time, listening and focus on keeping going.
Me being me game for a laugh, the others dressed me up as a woman but all friendly banter and that’s what keeps us going as a group.
Support always there and plenty of it.
Still a bit to go, no target but getting closer and that’s the main thing.
With the weight loss comes health benefits, fitter, less pain in joints.
I’ve included some before and after pictures and the positive comments I have received keep me spurred on because you don’t always realise yourself.
Worked out that 6 stone is 38kg so like carrying 2 hold cases on your hols!
Best advice is keep going/ don’t give up, don’t beat yourself up either because we can all get there ☺️
