Walk and Talk with Adventure Code UK

Step away from the meeting room and join us for a refreshing event at Delamere Forest on the 18th September facilitated by founder, Tom Code

Through Adventure Code, Tom helps individuals and teams reconnect, reduce stress, improve communication and boost wellbeing through immersive outdoor experiences.

Good News! Queen of Greens is returning to Knowsley with its first stop at Volair Huyton, on Friday, 31st July.

The bus will stop every Friday from 11:00AM – 11:45AM, bringing fresh, affordable, market quality fruit and vegetables to the local community.

They will accept Healthy Start Vouchers as payment.

A great choice for families especially those with young children. This could help families particularly over the holidays (and they can pop in for a free child’s swim also!).

Please share this information with any residents, families or colleagues who may benefit from accessing affordable, fresh produce in their local area.

Knowsley Chamber is proud to have signed a pledge for the Armed Forces Covenant, reaffirming our commitment to supporting serving personnel, veterans, reservists and military families. Through this pledge, we aim to champion the valuable contribution of the Armed Forces community and promote a supportive and inclusive business environment across Knowsley.

Last Monday, we were pleased to welcome Jan Cox QVRM DL, Defence Relationship Manager, to meet with our Board and formally present our direct Covenant pledge.

We encourage businesses across Knowsley to learn more about the Covenant and consider joining the thousands of organisations already showing their support.

The Armed Forces Covenant

Since June 2013, thousands of companies have publicly pledged their support to the armed forces community by signing the Armed Forces Covenant. By signing the Armed Forces Covenant, organisations pledge to honour 2 main principles:
- No member of the armed forces community should face disadvantage at work or in the community compared to other citizens
- In some circumstances special consideration is appropriate for those who have given most, such as the injured or bereaved

Working Well Update 📢

The SMOKEFREE WORKPLACES TOOLKIT has been developed to empower workplaces of all sizes and sectors to prioritise employee health and wellbeing. With support from Working Well and Smokefree Knowsley, it provides practical resources to support a smokefree workplace.

Smokefree Knowsley is available to offer help and support to those in workplaces who wish to stop smoking right across the borough. Their service is extremely flexible either via the telephone, face to face or online. They can provide a bespoke package that can work around your working hours at your convenience. Stopping smoking is one of the best things you can do for your health.

Smokefree Knowsley can offer you up to 16 weeks of Ni****ne Replacement Therapy i.e. They will send a code to your mobile phone that can be used to dispense your Ni****ne Replacement Therapy at any Knowsley Pharmacy. Alongside this they offer behavioural support from an experienced stop smoking advisor. It is proven that you are 4 times more likely to quit smoking with support.

WORKING WELL EVENT UPDATE 📢

Last week Working Well hosted a fantastic session with Chef Lisa at Felix Merserside (Formerly known as FareShare).

Participants got hands-on in the kitchen, creating vegetable frittatas, a variety of dips and delicious hummus made from baked beans, using simple ingredients that can often be found around the house. The session demonstrated just how easy and affordable healthy cooking can be!

The food was such a hit with participants that they were even invited to stay and enjoy lunch with the volunteers afterwards. Chef Lisa also shared practical tips and tricks to make healthy cooking easy and accessible, giving everyone knowledge they can take back and share with their teams.
