🌸 Elm Lea Garden Party – Saturday 1st August 2026 🌸

What a truly wonderful afternoon we shared at our Garden Party! 💜🩵

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the day so special. It was filled with smiles, laughter, music, delicious food, and precious moments spent together with our amazing residents, their families, friends, and staff.

Seeing everyone enjoying themselves and creating such happy memories is exactly what Elm Lea is all about. Days like these remind us how lucky we are to be part of such a caring and compassionate community.

A special thank you to our incredible team, whose hard work and dedication made the day such a success. Your kindness and commitment to our residents shines through in everything you do, and I couldn't be prouder to be your manager.

Thank you also to our wonderful residents and their families for your continued support. We hope you all had a fantastic time and made memories to treasure.

Leah, the Manager, and Juhi, Head of Care, accompanied Keith to watch his son's concert with the Borehamwood Brass Band. The visit was especially meaningful, taking place almost 59 years to the day since Keith married his beloved late wife, Jackie.

Returning to the church brought back a lifetime of treasured memories. As Keith took his seat, he turned to Leah and said, "I married Jackie here." It was a powerful reminder of how familiar places and cherished memories can have such a positive impact on a person's wellbeing.

Keith's family were all there to share this special occasion, and seeing him surrounded by his loved ones, looking so happy and proud, made the day even more memorable. The Borehamwood Brass Band dedicated a piece especially to Keith, and watching his face light up as the music played was truly heartwarming. His expressions reflected joy, pride, and deep emotion, creating a moment that everyone present will remember for years to come.

It was a wonderful example of how meaningful experiences, family connections, and music can evoke precious memories, bringing comfort, happiness, and a profound sense of belonging.

It is with great sadness that we announce that Jean (Nan) passed away peacefully on 4th June 2026.

Words cannot describe how much we will miss you. When you moved to Elm Lea five months ago, the staff made you feel loved, safe, and cared for. Our family will always be grateful for the kindness and support they showed you, giving us five extra precious months to share with you.

You adored your family and friends, and we will cherish the many happy memories we created together.

Rest peacefully, Nan. You will be forever loved and deeply missed. ❤️🕊

During April 2026, numerous compliments were received from residents and their relatives, demonstrating a consistently high standard of care and positive lived experiences within the service.

Residents frequently described staff as kind, supportive, and attentive. Feedback highlighted that staff are “always happy to help,” “lovely,” and “very helpful,” indicating a strong culture of person-centred care and responsiveness to individual needs.

Residents expressed overall satisfaction with their care, with some stating they feel “very happy” and “well looked after.” Positive relationships between staff and residents were frequently noted, with staff contributing to residents’ emotional wellbeing and daily enjoyment.

Feedback from relatives was equally positive, with family members expressing gratitude for staff efforts and confirming that their loved ones are happy and well cared for.

The quality of food provision was also commended, with multiple residents praising meals, particularly roast dinners, and reporting enjoyment of the menu. Activities and engagement opportunities were positively received, contributing to overall resident satisfaction.

Additional compliments recognised the wider team, including maintenance staff, reflecting a whole-service approach to resident wellbeing.
