After three long years spent indoors, constantly asking every single carer what the outside world was like, she finally got to see everything the seaside has to offer 🌊🐟. She had fish and chips by the sea, followed by an ice cream, and then enjoyed a leisurely walk back home 🍟🍦🚶‍♀️

Throughout the day, she was incredibly grateful, repeatedly saying how she would remember this day forever and how lovely it was. She was truly enjoying herself every moment. A massive thank you to Mobility North Devon for helping her get out and about, feel the wind in her hair and the sun on her skin 🌬️🌞. She absolutely loved every moment of it and can’t wait to do it all over again!

This is truly the part of my job that makes it all worthwhile spending some lovely quality time with one of my longest clients 💖. This wonderful lady has been with me since the very first day of Ivybae Care, so this was an incredibly special moment for me 🥰.

Do you need help getting to out-of-town medical appointments?

Ilfracombe Community Car Service can provide a door-to-door travel option to anyone who finds themselves unable to get to medical appointments outside of the Ilfracombe are through our team of volunteer drivers.

You only pay to cover the cost of the volunteer's mileage, and you may be able to claim your expenses back.

There are no age restrictions, you can use this service if you have:

- No access to suitable transport
- Find it difficult to access public transport
