Emerging with a multi-sensory discipline, following time spent with both my practice and skills evolving and maturing, has given me a much desired level of freedom and flexibility. Combining intuition, a passion for life sciences, and an extensive breadth of experience, has reaped its rewards. Actively encouraging fluidity within my core specialisms, and harnessing both their individual and collec

tive abilities to cross boundaries freely, has resulted in my naturally working with this specific client group in an entirely unique way. I have been fortunate enough to treat breeds ranging from Shetland ponies to Shire horses, working collies to retired racing greyhounds, and a good many others in between. Without exception, the results are always positive and enlightening. Something which I trust is continually reflected in my practice.

What a lot of fun we had during last month’s Zoopharma Forage & hands-on Practical Animal Hedgewitchery product making, with the fabulous Coastal Canine Cuisine, in Ilfracombe! 🌿🐾

If you missed it, you can catch us next month at The Complete Canine, in Umberleigh, where we’ll be doing it all again, this time exploring late Summer into early Autumn plants 🍃🍁

We’d love you to join us! ♥️

☀️ This year, to celebrate the Summer Solstice, we decided to do something different and head out with the wonderful Devon Birds, in hopes of witnessing the elusive Nightjar…

🐦‍⬛Still very much at the stage of amateur birders, we weren’t immediately convinced at the wisdom of waiting pensively for sundown and the sight or sound of these crepuscular long distance travellers, whilst getting savagely attacked by midges! But rewarded we were with an enthusiastic array of flights, song and territory calls from these truly enigmatic, pseudo-mythical visitors…

🩴 Aptly named, on account of the ‘jarring’ or ‘churring’ sound they make, Silas has since affectionately termed them ‘the wet flip-flop bird’! Hands up who knew that every bird has three distinct voices - their song (territory call), contact call and alarm call?! In this case, the Nightjar’s contact ‘gwik’ is reminiscent of squeaky feet on rubber, and now we can’t unthink it!

🪲 But don’t take our word for it! Go out and listen for yourselves! Restoration of Nightjar heathland, grassland and woodland habitat - in some cases, with the aid of grazing cattle, donkeys, ponies and pigs - has apparently begun to prompt a gradual increase in numbers again. And the same goes for their African homeland where, we’re told, education also underpins this hawk-like bird’s survival. A shift from red to amber on the IUCN’s Threatened Species list is surely a good thing?

🌊 Needless to say, we didn’t see the sunrise this morning! We did, however, bake sun bread this weekend, forage for Elderflower, Meadowsweet and Dog Rose tisane (while practising our bird call ID!) and have a gloriously refreshing dip in the vast blue ocean of which we are a part - to satiate my selkie soul - only to be greeted by a stunning Hummingbird Hawkmoth on the path back home!

🌳 And as if all this wasn’t enough, by way of a precursor, the focus of Friday’s Litha Hedgewitchery gathering was a field trip to a specially designated, privately owned meadow; a reflection of the rewilding work that continues on this formerly organic pasture. Usually enjoyed as a sprawling lunchtime affair, we inadvertently managed to make this gathering last all day! Curated deliberately as a safe, free space, with the intention of sharing both accrued and re-membered wisdom and experiences, this group - born of zoopharma foragers and interspecies communicators - has excelled all my expectations. More than ever, the conversation was as rich as the meadow was with species - and the table was with nourishment!

♥️ My top two expressions this week have to be “deeply human” and “interspecies conference.”; you know who you are! When we lean into the dissolution of imaginary and imposed boundaries between ourselves and the more-than-human world, a series of magickal shifts begins to happen…

🙏 We’re so incredibly grateful to live as we do, to find unparalleled joy in the simplest of pursuits, and to welcome visitors from sun-drenched to frozen shores alike, to delight us with their wonder and mystery…

Stay awestruck always!
Bright blessings, One and All 🫶

What a weekend! 🔥

Small really IS beautiful and these two aces absolutely smashed it! 😍

Communicating with the more-than-human world is child’s play! And when you allow back in that sense of wonder and awe - magickal things really do happen! ✨

Exploring our senses, our heart space ♥️ and our vibrational frequencies, we communicated with the Landscape, Exmoors, Mangalitsas and Longhorns 🙌 As well as Lottie - our eleventh-hour dachshund Case Study! Eternal gratitude to guardian Kate for sharing some last minute fun with us! 🙏

The mycelial network, the ancient lichens, the fecund soil, and all the multitudinous micro to mesafauna can’t all be wrong! 🍄🌱🐴 🐗🐄 so we’ll be leaning into our clay selves all over again in October 🗓 Join us if it speaks to you!

Sending SO very much love and healing to all those navigating difficult circumstances at this time, and who sadly couldn’t be with us this weekend ♥️
We look forward to sharing with you very soon 🫶

NB No animals were disturbed during the duration of the weekend. All close-up shots were taken with a zoom 👍

💚 Another utterly wild and wonderful weekend spent at Kipscombe on Exmoor with this Spring’s newest Interspecies Communicators 💚

Heartfelt thanks and “Congratulations!” to Diane, Lisa, Ally, Lucy and Tracy, who each contributed their own unique gifts to make the whole so very much greater than the sum of its parts! 🙏🫶♥️

It’s a place where magick happens organically and the generosity of the more-than-human world invokes deep re-membering and humility 🌦🌱🌼🐷🐮🐴🐝🌳

Our gratitude also goes to Cassandra and ‘Dr Dog’ Bill for lighting the way as a ‘live’ energetic Case Study in every way; the through flow of information was superb! 🐶💫

Looking forward immensely to treading the expanded Ancestral Footsteps path later this month 🐾🐴🍄🌱
And to doing both all over again in the Autumn! 🍂

♥️ It’s heartwarming to hear that the work we do truly makes a difference in the world - and in a multitude of ways. In 2025, I was asked to host a Canine First Aid course run by the super talented Amanda at Allwinds Dog First Aid. This was the feedback received from the Cinnamon Trust - our chosen recipient of the charitable donation raised as a percentage of course fees:

“Thanks to your extremely generous donation we can begin to put our plans in place for a hydrotherapy pool at our Poldarves Sanctuary. This is designed to assist in canine and small animal rehabilitation. It will be a walk-through design with twin doors, stainless steel side platforms, glass sides with 360° patient monitoring and touchscreen controls. This will be in what is currently our cat house, once we have completed the new cat house 🐱

💪 Our residents will benefit immensely by having treatments which promote pain relief, muscle relaxation, and improved mobility. The buoyancy of the water reduces stress on joints and muscles, making it ideal for dogs with mobility issues or recovering from injuries. The warm water helps relax muscles and ease pain, while the hydrostatic pressure can reduce swelling and stiffness, improve joint range of motion and overall mobility as well as improve cardiovascular health.”

What a wonderful thing to be a part of! 🫶

This time last weekend we were gearing up for an Applied Zoopharmacognosy / Applied Animal Herbal Choices talk and live demo for the newly established hydro-physio facility team at The Complete Canine 🌿🐶

One distinct advantage of bespoke events such as this, is that attention is very much focussed on the individuals present. They get to ask lots of questions - whenever they like - and disappear down rabbit holes, without fear of compromise! 🐰

Beautiful guest teacher, Lula, curled up and slept peacefully among us, until spotlight time arrived… Then bestowed a textbook array of responses on her audience, to broaden the discussion even further 🐾🌱

Research tells us that new information can be more easily integrated when accessed both experientially and playfully - just like our dogs! - and enhances the formation of positive human and animal relationships 🫶 ♥️ Safe to say, everyone expanded their learning!

Look out for my seasonal talks, walks and workshops throughout the coming year 👀 Whether you’re completely new to the subject, or interested in incorporating techniques as a guardian, there’s something welcoming for everyone 💚🙏

At the end of last week we held our Imbolc Hedgewitchery gathering; this time generously hosted by Inge, dedicated guardian of Parson Russell Terrier, Rebus 🌱🐶

Our wholesome sharing took us on a journey from South Africa’s baboons and North Devon and Ireland’s grey seals, to essential oil quality, plant ID and interspecies communication… 🦭🌿🐾

We swapped physical and metaphorical seeds, shared the most delicious table of fare 😋 and held reverence for the nourishing dark time giving cause for celebration and new growth as the light begins to appear… ✨

Rooted in the collective, we held space for absences and sent distant healing ❤️‍🩹 for those in need 🙌🐶

Microgreens and nature recovery communication are on the cards next! Such a heartfelt blessing to be sending out ripples exponentially into the community… 💚💜
